Hi, just a quick note,

Allister MacGillivray, Cape Breton composer/song-writer, has a new compilation CD coming out, which includes 13 of his original songs, with some of the artists he worked with.
Among the people he has on this recording is John Allan Cameron, Foster and Allen, Ryan's Fancy, and Phil Coulter.
The songs include Coal Town Road, The Island, Song For the Mira, Song For Peace, and many other popular tunes.

The recording is available from Sea-Cape. The CD is 18.00 Cdn, and the cassette is $11.00. You can contact them at [e-mail] for ordering information. They accept Visa.

The second one is really a nice one. A few years ago, Fred Redden, one of the sources for Dr. Helen Creighton's songs was killed while walking along the road by a car. He had been in the middle of a project which would bring original source material on a recording. This was carried on by friends and family after he died. The project was complted, and recordings are now available.

OOps! Speaking of Helen Creighton, I just remembered. Clary Croft has completed his biography of his mentor, Dr. Helen Creighton. It is now available from Nimbus Publishing.
