       The Dent Fest 2012 is only a few days away now, more details can be found on www.dentmusicandbeer.com

Been in contact with the committee and they are saying the pre booked campsites are already booked up, so if you haven't booked a pitch yet and you want to get on the Condor farm site which doesn't take bookings you best get up there early.

Bring yer wellies and sun cream to cover all possible weather conditions and just case the weather is like last year, get ready for a mass sing of I'm singing in the rain.

I am concerned that nothing was posted by dear Dozy Rozy this year concerning the Dent beer and music fest (in May)or any other of the fests in which she has taken a keen interest in years gone by. Is there someone in the Mudcat Cafe who can explain what, if anything, is the matter, please.

So plan B came into operation on Saturday(see earlier posting) and it didn't stop folk from attending, by eck what a week end, real music with real folk and real beer and fantastic food.

The Highlights;........... everything.

Thanks to all who donated the Walk for Amos Challenge I'm doing next month (see the 'support for Muppett's challenge' thread)

The forecast is very good for this weekend, with a high of up to 75 degrees on Sunday so it should be a good 'un like the last three years of this festival.

Last year the midges were dealt with by spraying the area prior to the event and it worked well, the same is happening this year.

As for plan B, well it's the Glastonbury Plan (Potential for some fantastic mud slides) and get ready for a mass singing of I'm singing in the rain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the website, www.dentbeerand music.com for the running order.

And don't forget those of you coming on the train (like me) there'll be a free bus to and from the station, though it is a grand walk to the village along the Dalesway, good practice for my walk for Amos (see the thread relating to that).

Ok, so take midge repellant spray/cream, sun tan lotion, umbrellas,wellies,sun tops and waterproofs, cardigans, bikinis, sandals and a blow torch for the midges (if they come out).

In other words folks, come prepared.....and enjoy whatever may be...but come anyway! You'll love it!

I suppose that would be the only advantage of rain! We were eaten alive two years ago. We decided to go to Dent rather than Scotland to avoid midgies - how wrong we were! The music was great though!

I am really hoping for warm and sunny weather for the festival Muppett, but what happens if there is a huge and prolonged downpour?

Much of the festival seems to centre on the village green using marquees etc so I just wondered if there is a plan B in the event of heavy rain.

Sorry if this comes across a bit negative because I don't mean it to be and really hope we get brilliant weather like you have had over the last three years or so. I was just wondering what contingency plans exist to cater for all weather conditions on the green.

Chris re. Campsites for Robin Hood's, there are 2 near by
Have a look on their websites;

www.hookhousefarm.co.uk and www.middlewoodfarm.com

gives you locations, prices and info. on facilities, I've stopped at both, Hook house is the cheaper of the 2, but both are pleasant and would recommend either.

Chris, Condor Farm in my opinion is the better of the 3 sites. No advance bookings though, just turn up on the day. £4 Per nite and a massive breakfast in the farm house served between 8.30am & 10.am for a further £4 (smaller versions also available) and as many cups of tea to go wi it.

As for Whitby no won't be there, but will call in there sometime when when the Robin Hood's Bay bash is on (june 10 -12th).

Not so Bev,Just been in contact wi the Guys in Dent, the word is if you're coming, get there early as the 2 sites that take bookings for camping are almost booked up so that'll mean Condor farm which doesn't take advanced bookings will get filled pretty sharpish.

Chris I'm there this weekend so I'll ask (can't promice owt)
