I was a 'hippie' in the early seventies, and I can't remember psychedelic panties. In fact, underwear was fairly plain. Bikinis could be psychedelic, in fact I had several of those. Oh dear, I was so slim then, I'm more of a hippo now.

I was a Haight-Ashbury hippie, myself. Underwear was often regarded as bourgeois. But I responded less than coolly when she only wore pachouli; she gave me quite a bang dressed but in ylang-ylang; we were one step up from vagrants with a little splash of fragrance....
