Next week (Saturday May 14th) at the Seven Stars in Foots Cray we have Open Mic plus a hotspot from Rowan Bosworth-Davies an excellent and very smooth performer.

However our headline guests have cancelled at short notice. Are there any lively bands, duos, trios out there who would like to step in and take the slot? - It's a lovely venue with a very friendly crowd, full PA and we would pay expenses.

Seven Stars Live

PM me if you prefer

I don't know if all of them can make it but have you considered Octopus - basically squiddly-diddly but well spoken of by all who saw them at Sweeps on the Boley Hill stage on Monday.

I am not a member, and I don't like diddly: I merely report.

They comprise Cari Sayers (fiddle) Gary Rodwell (various guitar tunings) Gemma (spectacular fiddle) and a guy called I think Red on upright bass. I have phone numbers for the first two. The last two are I think full time professional musicians and may have diary conflicts on other projects.

I know Brian Rodgers, Kevin Henty, and Simon Barlow saw them play at Sweeps.

Thanks Richard.

I think I have the problem sorted with a possible and a reserve, but the numbers would be useful for the future if you could PM them to me.

I appreciate your helpfulness on this.

While we're at it anyone else who might be interested in doing a HotSpot or Featured Artist slot at the Seven Stars is welcome to get in touch.

Border Crossing would be interested in doing another gig at the Seven Stars, as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves the last time we were there.

Regards

Wee Jock

We thoroughly enjoyed listening to you Jock, it was a delightful performance.

I shall give Girl Friday first refusal as she books most of the truly Folk artists, but if you have no joy there (unlikely) I'd be pleased to hear from you. Follow the website link in the first post and click 'contact'

all the best

Who are you and why? I have details but she would very likely get very agitato if I passed them on.

If you join this site so you can PM, then disclose your true identity and prove it, Growler or Melodeonboy or I might be able to assist you - but most likely you will need to leave your details (repeat, true identity proof and method of contact) with one of us for her to revert to you.

I am concerned that the failure of either of you two guests to get back to me via that cutout email indicates that your interest might be other than it should be. I have passed on the email given above and recommended that a disposable email be used for any reply.
