As some of you know I have adopted a chimp at monkeyworld. Monkey world is the rescue centre in Dorset, England for primates -started by Americans, Alison Cronin and her late husband, Jim. I adopted a chimp called Sally.

Sally had been treated very cruelly by her owners as a beach photographers prop in Spain. they had beat her, got her addicted to tranquilisers, taught her smoke cigarettes to amuse the tourists, burned her with cigarette ends and all kinds of terrible stuff.

Sally has become in her new life in Monkeyworld, a wise sweet tempered chimp, who cares for a group of the younger chimps in Monkey world. Pathetically she still holds a twig in her hand much of the time, like the cigarettes she was forced to pose with.

I wrote a song about Sally.

And the people at Monkey world have invited me to sing my song at an event called The Big Sleepover at Monkeyworld on May 21st.

So a new genre - Monkey and Western!
