Subject: Origins: Lullaby called 'Happy Journey' (I think) From: GUEST,brownd Date: 11 May 11 - 02:01 AM I'm trying to track down info on a lullaby that my mom and dad used to sing to us. We always called it "Happy Journey", but I'm not certain if that is the actual title. My parents were born in 1915 and 1922, and we have a record of my dad singing the song in the late 1940s or 1950s (I think), so that might help date the song. Here are the lyrics: Happy journey little fellow on your trip to Sleepytown. May the angels guide your journey little Captain Sleepyhead on your trip to Featherbed. When you're anchored in the harbor on the Bay of Eiderdown, happy journey little fellow on your trip to Sleepytown. I'd like to track down who wrote the song and when. Thanks! |
