I have today seen and heard a government minister assert on TV that the BA strikes should never have occurred. His reasoning was that maintaining old BA staffing levels would have rendered the airline "uncompetitive" and so jeopardised the jobs of workers.

At least if the airline had folded capital as well as labour would have felt some pain.

What this government espouses is that the pain should fall on the workers so that the shareholders can stay rich.

Bastards.
