Just packing the campervan ready to come over for a short holiday before going to Chippenham for the 40th anniversary celebrations.

Will the weather be the same as the last time Steeleye Span performed? Freezing cold and wet? Let's hope for the more usual warm sun!

Hope to see lots of Mudcatters there.

Spare Parts will be there - we haven't been told exactly what they want us to do, but we expect we're running English tunes practice sessions before the main R&C English sessions as usual. We'll put the music up on the band website.

We'll also take a few three-part arrangements for concertinas in case we find ourselves doing those sort of sessions as well or instead.

All best wishes for a great 40th, but now I've been rested from running singing events at the Cause I'm grabbing the opportunity to get to Bude for the first time....

Will miss the wonderful atmosphere and acoustics (and Fred and Norma)at the Cause though!

And BB and I will be there on the Saturday - launching the Short Sharp Shanties vol.1 CD with Jeff Warner, Keith Kendrick and Doug Bailey. The CDs have just arrived (because Wild Goose are in Cyprus)- but they'll be back in time. Yippee!

A skeleton programme is now on the Festival website.

Spare Parts will be running concertina part-playing sessions on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 4.30 in the Bear Hotel as well as our usual English tunes practice sessions at 11.00 a.m. each day in the Rosie barn before the main English tunes sessions.

Bryan Creer will be putting the music on the band website very soon as pdfs and midis.
