I remember it too. I think it was sung by Vern Sutton.

I couldn't find it, though, at the new Prairie Home Companion website.

I am contemplating a move from Houston, Texas to the North Shore of Minnesota (yeah, weird things happen), and it made me think of this song. I'm pretty sure I heard it years ago on "A Prairie Home Companion."
