Our camping stuff is still in disarray after the move down to Somerset, so we've opted for a B&B this time - just booked it. Yippee!

So we'll be there at the festival and at the Mudgather. Looking forward to it :D

Only a couple of days... still trying to figure out how to get there on the Friday. Might have to be a super-early start on Saturday to miss the half term/bank holiday hoardes at the M4/M5 junction and thereon to Exeter. But whatever and whenever, it will be worth it for this brilliant highlight of the year.

We're planning to leave about lunchtime tomorrow, getting there late afternoon or thereabouts. Couldn't even start packing till today, because I've had my brother visiting from France, but he's left now.

Rob is outside in bitterly cold wind trying to get his watering system with the soaker hoses up and running, and hasn't even started thinking about packing yet. We have 4 lovely big vege plots as well as some smaller ones on the side, and a greenhouse full of well-advanced tomato plants. We don't want to lose them! Of course this means it will rain all weekend ;) Whatever happened to that lovely spring weather we were having in April?

BTW we are staying at a hotel bed and breakfast a couple of miles out. If we drive in, does anybody know where the best parking is close to the festival? I've got a bit of a dodgy knee right now and don't want to have to walk any long distances.

Whole weekend was splendid! Another mighty triumph for Lucy, Kevin, the committee, all the volunteers, stewards, breakfast cooks, Stuart the steward, the ladies on the cakes in the church, etc. etc.

Back home now whilst the survivors' session mops things up. Knackered but happy.

(But the Ms 5, 4 & 25 didn't round things off too pleasantly)

Too many highlights to single any out. Just a blast throughout.

Hugs all round!

x

What a splendid weekend. Started by Stu looking through the letter box at us telling us to go away and finished by dropping Harley and Tricky at Ash near Martock. In between - I can only begin to tell you what fun we had.

George a brilliant end of the Pier host.
Row row row ya boat - great fun.
Broadside Mummers, less said the better, but very funny.
Lovely singing and playing by lots of people.
St Michael's Church - now there's accoustics- wowzers!
and probably more that I can't remember at the mo am very tired, not back to the Island until 1:30 ferry.
Oh and it was lovely to see Ali and Steve at the Church

Oooo - I gained myself a fiance at the end of Monday nights Folk Club.

Good weekend all round really.

Thanks to the Committee one and all.

Jillie x

Just seen the 'fiance' word in your post Jillie, huge congratulations from us at Old Keepers! Has anyone got a video of the event? That's something I'd pay to see, can we have a re-run at Folkstation?????

Steve Shaw, sorry I missed you off the list! Did I not get a hug from you then? Think I got hugs from most Catters though it's not compulsory...

The proposal was the perfect culmination to a truly wonderful weekend.
To add to what Lucy says, the reason things run so smoothly is the careful planning and worrying beforehand. But the best band of helpers needs a careful and caring leader, in Bude there is the ideal combination, well done to all concerned.

Been back for a bit over 24 hours, but our internet was down till a few minutes ago.

Yes, I have the marriage proposal on video. All of it! Got lots of other good stuff too! PM me for my email address if you want any of it.

What a lovely weekend it was! I'd never been to Bude before, but we had the absolute BEST TIME! Big thanks to Lucy and all her helpers for putting this on. As for highlights - I have trouble knowing where to start - there was so much good stuff - the singing sessions, the fun and games with the Broadside Mummers, the catching up with friends old and new, workshops and concerts, the last late night session thanks to our generous host in the Rugby Club, with silly jokes and stories, and of course the marriage proposal!

We were seriously short of sleep by the time we came home, but it was worth it! Roll on next year!!!

I've only just got home, because Derek and I spent a lovely few days in north Cornwall after the festival and came back via the Pennymoor Song & Ale in Devon this last weekend.

Many thanks to Lucy and all your helpers (especially Kevin and Stu) for a brilliant singing weekend, and to everyone there for a wonderful atmosphere.

Looking forward to next year
