Subject: RE: Saltburn ff ~ Competitions 2011 From: GUEST,Myrtle's Cook Date: 28 Jul 11 - 09:34 AM I can heartily recommend the singer songer writer competition 'session' to anyone not wanting to enter - a wonderful crop of very high standard material (my own efforts excepted...). Will sadly be sparing listeners this year as I will be on post-operative care duty - but good luck to all who enter. |

Ray --------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you Ray! I'll bring along the trophy for the -fretted- instruments contest I received last year. Are former winners eligible to enter again? On second thought I think I shouldn't. I made my point that complex instrumental, non-traditional folk music deserves recognition at festivals like Saltburn. Too bad it hasn't resulted in us being in the 2011 line up. But we're in the region. On the 'Monday after', Aug 15th, we'l perform in The North Briton, Aycliffe Village. Info: John Snowball 01325 315679 Or visit our home page: Heartstrings Bruno van Hoek |
Subject: RE: Saltburn ff ~ Competitions 2011 From: r.padgett Date: 23 May 11 - 12:06 AM My favourite festival! Lovely Victorian village with plenty of b & b, a small pier and cliff side lift The Spa is ideal for festival concerts and meets and the whole area gives a total village feel. the Middlesbrough train comes right into the small station which is located in the town centre Other concert venues too including the church hall and usual indoor craft type fayres I am advised that ticket sales going very well too Ray |

Subject: RE: Saltburn ff ~ Competitions 2011 From: r.padgett Date: 18 May 11 - 08:40 AM Yes of course the festival requirements is that a weekend ticket needs to have been purchased by entrants*** We have had this "discussion" before, £52 before end of May £58 after June 1st ~ nothing for nothing unless of course you want to set up your own competition of course! and offer prize money too! There have been no shortage of excellent winners, some very professional and competent! My annual entry form has a set of rules and the question of "booked performers" is covered by "permission of the festival organiser" to enter which also covers those people who are "stewarding" Again please see the web site for Saltburn ff ta Ray |
