I doubt if I'm in touch enough to get involved in keeping someone informed, Anahata so I'll just note this here.

The Norwich Sunday session I'd mentioned has moved to The GateHouse. Nice room btw with good acoustics and a landlord that likes the music. He had been closing Sunday nights and is opening for the session so it's a bit dependant on the session bringing enough trade in but fingers crossed...

As far as I can make out, the most complete and upto date web listing for this area is Littlebirdtoldme. It may be worth comparing against that.

PS I'd appreciate it if any session or club changes in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire or Essex were emailed to listings@suffolkfolk.co.uk and probably best to copy to me too: editor@suffolkfolk.co.uk to help us to keep the session listings up to date.

I've posted your announcements on the Suffolk Folk Stop Press page, as the session is listed in Mardles Magazine.

Keep me posted about any further changes; meanwhile I'll assume it's the Barley Mow from now on.

All is not lost: we have a possible new venue at the 'Barley Mow', Witnesham, near Ipswich. Seems like a nice room, good beers and a welcoming landlord.

First 'round the room' evening will be on Saturday 4 June - all welcome; relaxed attitude a requirement. Last night's 'Golden Key' evening in Ipswich attracted 24 performers, with five regulars unable to make it. Let's keep the momentum going!

Hope you find another session soon.

Btw, things don't to good in Norwich atm. Last I heard, The Shed has had a new manager who didn't want the Wed night Irish session. I believe that session is now taking place at someone's house.

The Nelson was closed on Friday. At one time this held four sessions, English - Tue, sort of more American contemporary- Wed, free for all, Thu and Irish - Sun. I think that 3 have relocated (either some time ago or as a result of recent rumours) but I know the Sun night one recently tried another venue but returned to the Nelson and as far as I know, the Sun session is currently homeless.

Going by the EDP, it seems The Nelson may still reopen with the same landlord though. According to that newspaper it seems there has been some dispute between tenants and owners over electrical repairs which may or may not be resolved...

Had luck mate, I know how you feel. Food is king here too.
Think yourselves very lucky that you have had a Saturday spot at all.
Chat again soon, B

Sadly, the friendly sessions formerly on the first Saturday of the month at the 'Three Horseshoes' at Charsfield, Suffolk, are no more. The pub is to become a private house,so we're homeless until we can find another venue - not easy on a Saturday when most pubs are glorified restaurants.

Thanks to all our supporters and visitors.
