Subject: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: LadyJean Date: 21 May 11 - 09:42 AM The sun rose this morning, which is a bit unusual. We've had some pretty heavy rains here. But none of my neighbors has been carried off with nothing left but his clothes. All in all it seems to be business as usual in Western Pennsylvania. Has the world ended where you are? |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 21 May 11 - 09:44 AM Still here so far. Neighbours all as normal. Lovely sunny day, have been sitting in the garden. No sign of any Rapture yet. |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: Little Hawk Date: 21 May 11 - 09:44 AM It doesn't end until 6 PM (in each appropriate time zone), you silly goose! ;-) Synchronize your watches, people. |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: saulgoldie Date: 21 May 11 - 09:54 AM It ended here, long ago... "Don't they know, it's the end of the world, It ended when you said, 'Good-bye.'" Saul |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: GUEST,Lighter Date: 21 May 11 - 09:57 AM As I understand the workings of the world's time zones, the first cataclysms should have hit New Zealand hours ago as they began their inexorable roll eastward, arriving at some point at your house. Nothing on CNN or Fox. Why the coverup? |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 21 May 11 - 09:58 AM Well, Little Hawk, I'm just going to get my washing in and iron it, then water my hanging baskets and flower tubs. A bit of a waste of energy if I'm going to be Raptured at 6pm! |
Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: GUEST,Lighter Date: 21 May 11 - 10:09 AM But you know, it would be just like the Rapture to occur when no one expects it: which would definitely be some time later today but before midnight (wherever you are). That way today's prophecy would still be fulfilled. So there is no CNN/Fox coverup. This time. But there's good news (unless you're looking forward to the Rapture)! Since I've figured out that it has to happen by midnight, it can't happen then! Because then I'd have known. And nobody can know. So basically it could happen any time from now on. As usual. If you believe in the Rapture. Atheists, Muslims, Jews, most Protestants (some are iffy) and the Pope do not. Agnostics have to be on the fence. |

Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: MGM·Lion Date: 21 May 11 - 01:37 PM ---Maybe nobody's good enough to go?--- A point; but according to Mr Champing or whatever he's called, although it is only the good who will be rapturised today, the rest of us will all be dead by 1 Oct. Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: sian, west wales Date: 21 May 11 - 01:40 PM No, no, no. Isn't it that The Rapture was to happen at 6.00 p.m. (rolling programme according to time zones) but the End of the World happens 5 months later; that is, late October? If so we're left with two options: either The Rapture is bogus and we're all as OK as we were before (take that as you will) or The Rapture has happened, we weren't among the Selected Few, and we have 5 months to wind up our affairs. Or run up one Hell of a debt ... Gonna check eBay out for yachts ... s. |

Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: Donuel Date: 21 May 11 - 06:50 PM Nothing has ended but I have noticed some oddities while in the bathroom. I got on the scale and I was 35 lbs lighter. I turned on the water and my hands didn't feel as much resistance to the stream of water. Its hard to put into words but my hands didn't feel as wet. When my son walked in front of the TV I could still see a little tiny bit of light from the TV right through him. The fan blowing air had less effect. Music and sounds in general sound about half as intense... NOT but it has the makings of an interesting sci fi device. |

Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: MGM·Lion Date: 22 May 11 - 12:40 AM Important BTW ~Michael~ whose "pedantry is legendary" {friend on another forum} would point out, in case of confusion, that the word "RAPTURE" as used in Thessalonians &c, & in the context of this thread, does NOT mean "inordinate pleasure" in its current, developed, sense {though it has most probably become conflated with that} ~~ ~~ but is used in the archaic, acc to Chambers, sense of "a seizing and carrying away" ~~ In other words, Jesus intends to KIDNAP the Good, for their own good, to his place in the firmament, there to join the virtuous simultaneously raised from the dead ~~ while the rest of us are left here to do the best we can. Though acc to Mr Camping, only till next October. |

Subject: RE: BS: The World Hasn't Ended Here From: John MacKenzie Date: 22 May 11 - 01:16 PM " At Lunchtime - A story of Love" When the bus stopped suddenly to avoid damaging a mother and child in the road, the young lady in the greenhat sitting opposite was thrown across me, and not being one to miss an opportunity i started to makelove with all my body. At first she resisted saying that it was too early in the morning and too soon after breakfast and that anyway she found me repulsive. But when i explained that this being a nuclearage, the world was going to end at lunchtime, she took off her greenhat, put her busticket in her pocket and joined in the exercise. The buspeople, and there were many of them, were shockedandsurprised and amused and annoyed, but when the word got around that the world was coming to an end at lunchtime, they put their pride in their pockets with their bustickets and madelove one with the other. And even the busconductor, being over, climbed into the cab and struck up some sort of relationship with the driver. Thatnight, on the bus coming home, wewere all alittle embarrassed, especially me and the younglady in the greenhat, and we all started to say in different ways howhasty and foolish we had been. Butthen, always having been a bitofalad, i stood up and said it was a pity that the world didn;t nearly end every lunchtime and that we could always pretend. And then it happened....... Quick asa crash we all changed partners and soon the bus was acquiver with white mothballbodies doing naughty things. And the next day And everyday In everybus In everystreet In everytown In everycountry people pretended that the world was coming to an end at lunchtime. It still hasn't Although in a way it has. - Roger McGough (the punctuation and spacing are Roger's) |
