Spare Parts are running three concertina part-playing sessions at the Chippenham Festival, Wiltshire, England, which is taking place on 27- 30th. May.

If you'd like to look at the music in advance, Bryan Creer has put it on the Tunes page of the band website as pdf and midi files (slow and medium speeds).

The tunes are :-
Saturday 28th. May, Rose & Crown Coach House 4.30 - 5.30 (Event 287)
Father Angus McDonell, Bristol

Sunday 29th. May, Bear Hotel, 4.30 - 5.30 (Event 484)
Dick's Maggot, Jemmy Twinkles Wish

Monday 30th. May, Rose & Crown Coach House, 4.30 - 5.30 (Event 675)
Cutting Bracken, Pleasures of Salisbury

There are three 'English Concertina From Scratch' sessions on the timetable in the Bear Hotel at 12-2.00 on Saturday (event 242) Sunday (event 442) and Monday (event 638). They are marked with a Y rather than a price on the skeleton programme)on the Festival website.

This sounds a good idea. Does anyone know who the tutor is?

If they are marked Y does that mean the stewards will be checking birth certificates to keep the wrinklies out?

Good question. We could all resort to those strange mudpacks which are being heavily advertised on Facebook these days* but the stewards might just cut us in half and count the rings instead.

I've just found out that these are indeed young beginners' sessions; the tutor is Jill Shepherd.

* I don't know if FB keep decorating my page with these because of my profile picture or because I've told them my year of birth was 1914.
