We're getting towards the end of May. Looming large on my calendar is the wonderful Four Fools Folk Festival, 24 - 26 June. Sadly, this year the last one. This has always been my very favourite festival. So who's going, lets make this the weekend to end all weekends. We're off to a good start with the guest line-up of Pete Coe, Peta Webb and Ken Hall, Kevin and Ellen Mitchell, Malcolm Gibbons, Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher, John Morris, Jim Mageean, Barrie and Ingrid Temple, Ken Wilson, Mark Dowding, Sid Calderbank, Peter and Barbara Snape and His Worship and the Pig. (I'm sure I've forgotten someone, and I'm sure someone will remind me). A weekend full of song, no PAs, no big concerts just a weekend for people who love folk music and song. AND I have heard that Angie and Ken have a surprise in store for us on the Sunday afternoon. One not to me missed (and no I don't know what it is, but it is aimed as a thank you to all of you who have supported the festival over the years). So, spread the word, let's make it a sell out. It will certainly be the end of an era (its the 23rd year of this wonderful event). Details can be found on www.fourfools.co.uk   Let's make it a real celebration for Four Fools.

Thanks for putting the website link up Ross. Shows what else Four Fools have been up to as well. I notice the guest list needs updating a bit so will mention it to K and A. Although I never actually go for the guest list I go because of the type of weekend its guaranteed to be.

Ken and Angie are planning a 'surprise' for us all on Sunday afternoon. Wonder what that will be. I bet it will be a really good one, a grand finale to a great festival. Don't miss it.

It's at the same venue as the club, (The Crown, Platt Lane, Worthington, near Standish) which is mentioned and linked to on the site, Dave.

Used to be our works canteen when I worked at Logitech - Just through the railway bridge from the Crown:-)

Nice place - Can't be there though due to prior commitments either in Scotland, Ulverston or Abram - Don't know which yet.. Seeing as it is the same weekend as Abram try and get the dancers to come on Sunday - If they are not all too knackered after Saturdays day of dance!

Great line up, I'm looking forward to it. Four Fools emphasis has always been on song, since year one, and still it. Really friendly little weekend. They really deserve the name of the Little Festival with the Big Heart.

Have just found out that His Worship and the Pig will be making their final appearance at Four Fools on the Saturday as they are retiring due to commitments and difficulties with being so far apart. That's a real shame. So if you don't want to miss them, make sure you get to the weekend.

Sunday will include Sunday Songs, Ballad Session, Lazy Sunday concert, singaround, and the wonderful Four Fools 'surprise' in the afternoon. Then sing and play for as long as you like for the rest of the evening.

Hmm, just looked at the website and can't find the programme, so the outline is that it starts Friday at 7.30, Saturday at 10 and Sunday 10.15 with Sunday songs or 11 with a ballad session.
