The Met Office - on Tuesday they told the airlines that the volcanic ash cloud would cover most of the UK by today and all flights would be grounded. As it happens the cloud has almost disappeared and what is left has moved off into the North Sea. No disruption to flights at all and it's no wonder that bloke at Ryan Air is slagging off the met office and CAA as incompetents.

"Do you think she made him wash it first?"

That's gross!!! He's the pres. He has personal dick washers at his side 24/7 I should think. But, if not, I would suck his dick for $2,999,999.99 and wash it first. Customer servicing makes the difference.

"As President, I will close Guantanamo, reject the Military Commissions Act and adhere to the Geneva Conventions."

Guantanamo Bay "will be closed no later than one year from now" President Obama said in January 2009.

"I will finally end the abuse of no-bid contracts once and for all," the senator told a Grand Rapids audience on Oct. 2. "The days of sweetheart deals for Halliburton will be over when I'm in the White House."

A $24,673,427 no bid contract was awarded on Jan. 4 to Checchi & Company Consulting, Inc. a firm owned by Vincent V. Checchi, Democratic donor, to provide services in Afghanistan.

As kendall pointed out: "Many people can not tell the difference between a person lying and changing his/her mind. They are not the same.

You can't lie about future events. You can lie about your intentions, but that is a different matter. "I will do so-and-so if elected" isn't a lie even if you don't do it, it's an unfulfilled prediction, Just so long as you actually intend to do so-and-so at the time you say it. Of course it is still a broken promise.

Kendall and McGrath have it right. One technical exception... changing one's mind is not necessarily the reason for not following through as it could be that following through becomes impossible when one knows "the rest of the story."

McGrath has the right of it. There's a big difference between wanting to do something (and telling people what you intend to do) and what you actually CAN do when you get into office.

And, of course, there are a number of instances when Obama said what he intended to do, and when push came to shove, what Congress would LET him do.

It's easy to blame a president if he wasn't able to accomplish what he said he wanted to when he faces a Congess that is trying to make sure that he fails at every turn.

My beef with Obama is that he has been trying to establish cooperation and compromise with a bunch of people who have made it clear that they have no intention of cooperating and have their hells dug in. He needs to learn how to stop playing "Mr. Nice Guy" and kick some butt.

The lieing bastards who claim that the 2008 Wall St. crash was 99% the fault of sub prime mortgages should burn in a real time hell on earth. The movie Too Big To Fail pushes that paradigm to absurd limits.

Bundling sub prime, lieing about their worth and selling them worldwide is honestly only 20% of crime committed in the great theft of 2008.

The amount of transactions that were done with no collateral in hedge funds, insurance scams and fictional derivitives is actually an astronomical 114 trillion dollars.

In 5 years even student loans went from half a billion dollars to 4 trillion in part of the financial attack on America -by Americans- who are the best dressed thugs in hiustory.

The lieing bastards of Deep Water Horizon and BP in playing down the disaster they caused in the Gulf of Mexico.

COmpounding all the lies was the use of disspersant that is kept as a commercial secret formula which is no respondsible for destroying the immune systems of all life in the Gulf. The holocaust mass of infections in fish fowl and mammals is the secret they most hope to keep quiet.

Remember that the Ayn Rand Budget Solution is the lie that undergirds the whole GOP
agenda for the next election. Ryan is in thrall to her as was Greenspan before he finally woke up from his nap. (If you don't know who she is, look her up.)

The other big lie claims America is going broke. It is not. The wealth has been transferred by the Big Heist of the United States of Corporatocracy. The US is solvent.

The working and middle class people have become The United Suckers of America.

The CEO's are laughing.

In the case of lying or dissembling, the purpose is to mislead and create a destructive goal. "Bastard" is a subjective opinion but if you err too much in accepting the psychopathy as being "just another point of view", this is a form
of enabling.

Was Hitler or Osama a bastard? Would you say they weren't?

Name-calling carries with it a function of anger without which there would be a clinical acceptance of destructive behavior since you can rationalize almost every
misdeed known to mankind. I think that "lying bastard" can go together as a passionate outcry of recognizing injustice.

In lieu of the terminology, "lying bastard" you might substitute "sick and twisted" or "crazy" or "murderous" but taking the onus off of the destructive behavior of some of the Washington establishment hardly seems reasonable in light of what some of these "egregious" politicians, mostly on the radical GOP side, are doing.
I think "lying bastards" is appropriate.

An interesting 'side note'.....
A 'bastard' is NOT someone who doesn't HAVE a 'Father'...it's just someone who doesn't KNOW his father!
In the Judea/Christian scriptures, it is also brought out, that a 'good father' teaches his children, how to listen to him, so when he gets older, he can listen to his spiritual father, more easily!
Only one thing WORSE than a 'bastard', is a father who abandons his children!!...for just about ANY reason!!

Don't be disingenuous, GfS.

This kind of appeal to the prejudices of the stupid and mean-spirited is not new, especially recently. One of the first examples I saw of this sort of thing (photoshopping for the purpose of providing bogus "evidence" for a lie) was in the 2004 Presidential midterm election between John Kerry and George W. Bush. The Right Wing was trying to paint Kerry as a "peacenik" and claim that he would be totally inept in dealing with "our enemies in the Middle East." To emphasize their point, they circulated a photograph of Kerry sitting at a table on stage before a big crowd of placard-waving demonstrators—and he was sitting beside Jane Fonda. This "peace rally" was supposed to have taken place during the 2004 campaign.

During the time that this gathering was supposed to have occurred, Jane Fonda was in Mexico. And she went directly from there to Sweden. Neither Fonda nor Kerry was actually AT this supposed "rally," which is probably just as well, because it never took place.

This photograph had been put together from photos taken of Fonda at such a meeting some years before, and the one of Kerry had been taken at an entirely different gathering, and Jane Fonda wasn't even there. One of the discrepancies that some sharp-eyed person caught was that whoever had done the photoshop job had to "mirror image" the photo of Kerry to get it to fit where they wanted it, beside Jane Fonda. Kerry's wrist watch was on the wrong wrist! Boo-boo!! And to those who noticed, a dead giveaway. Along with that, the shadows were all wrong!

No one knows for sure who put this on the internet, but consensus has it that it was the so-called "swift-boaters."

You may have seen some of these examples of Photoshop Art. Several months back, there was someone here on Mudcat who was posting links to a lot of Right Wing material, and also putting stuff called "the Mudcat Pages" on the internet, trying to illustrate what a collection of fools, dupes, socialists, and traitors Mudcatters are.

Offhand, I can't recall the handle the guy used, but he was one sick puppy. His stuff was really slimy! And as far as I know, he's gone. At least he hasn't been active lately.

First of all, as to the "genuineness" of the particular photograph in question:   I've seen a number of photos of this nature (all Photoshopped), including one of Obama supposedly salaaming on a prayer rug at a mosque. And of Obama wearing headgear and beard like Osama wore. And in which Obama is wearing a leotard and a tutu, rather like a dancer in one of Degas' paintings. And several others, trying to create an image of him as a gay Muslim who was born in Kenya—or Indonesia. The individual posting this stuff on the internet couldn't make up his mind which country Obama was born in. And he was a bit bewildered by geography. He didn't seem to know where in the world these two countries really were—Indonesia is not in Africa, nor is Kenya in the South Pacific).

That photo is just more of the same kind of propaganda designed to appeal to the baser bigotries of the Great Unwashed.

Now, let's get real. Well, at least TRY.

What I find offensive about that picture is not the subject matter, but the motivation behind it, and the assumption it makes about how some people will take it. And, of course, the assumption IS correct. There are quite a few wall-eyed bigots out there.

As far as I am concerned, as long as you are making assumptions about what I may or may not find offensive, I do not believe Obama is gay (if he were, I think that might come as a bit of a surprise to Michelle). But—I know a fair number of gay people whose gender orientation does not, in any way, affect their work (two of whom happen to be state legistlators). So even IF Obama were gay, it would not matter one single bit to me, nor would it affect HIS ability to govern in any way.

And what he may or may not chose to do in private is his own, and nobody else's, business, because IT DOESN"T EFFECT anyone else.

People who go about dwelling on other peoples' sexuality all the time are saying far more about themselves than they are about anyone else.

GFS, you're absolutely right. No matter how badly a mother wantS to separate herself and her child from the father, the father should never allow it to happen; he should lock them in an inescapable room, or chain them to some immovable structure, rather than be separated from them.

I'm not. Other than that, I don't know what you mean.

And as to froggers, I'm not talking about what the mother does or doesn't want to do...I'm talking about the father ABANDONING the child and/or family.

Maybe it's become 'accepted behavior'...
the fact that it has become 'accepted behavior', SHOULD be an indication, as to how far we, as a culture, have deteriorated!!

Maybe using the word "bastard" as an insult is a mistake, since it tends to suggest that there's something disgraceful about being born to parents who aren't married, which of course there isn't.

Perhaps "lying turds" would be a better way of putting it.

The term is pejorative but has been in common usage to discredit someone.
I don't think anyone who uses it means to denigrate children born out of wedlock.

I think, upon further reflection, that maybe another term might be more specific such as
psychopathic, sociopathic, unreliable, destructive, disordered, damaging or disingenuous but none of these terms have the short bite to describe this form of behavior.

How about "jerk" although that's become too benign. I reject the term "evil" however because of it's religious connections.

.........................................................

Don Firth: (Quoting Margaret Mead)"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has!"

Well, yes, that is true...and we've seen it, and many, even here, participated in such things, and even so, in our youth.

I remember my Dad telling me, back then, in one of those 'heart to heart' talks,..and, upon him knowing that I've been a bit of a 'rebel', said, "Sometimes there is a time for rebels, and rebellion, but don't be a 'rebel' for rebel's sake. Instead, you can keep your spirit of being a rebel, but rebel at evil."

Now being at the cutting edge of a few things(artistically speaking), I've had to be a bit 'revolutionary', if you will...., 'Not sticking to the old shit, that doesn't fully work..but to 'revolve' as in 'turn' toward your inspiration...and in the course, of what I've seen, in my country and government, as well as corporate/business, and all the lies, that we find ourselves making excuses for, or spinning them to promote either party, then, what I come to, is "In a universe of deceit, speaking the truth is revolutionary!"

What we have seen, and from both parties, MANIPULATED BY THE SAME PEOPLE, is SO MUCH deceit, that maybe the truth, will come from the ground up, and have power to defeat the real oppressive enemy, of all of us!...Just some of us want to hold onto, that youth..and our ideals, and our place in it, without snapping a tight leash, on those parties, co-opting us, and using that spirit in us, that once gave THEM power.
The day that they use LIES, to persuade us toward their goals, without honesty, and practice 'mind control', to that end, is the day I'm OUT!......I'll listen to where I get truth...and in time, the 'small group' of us, will ultimately win out!

Sometimes ya just gotta turn your backs on 'Bogus Crusaders'!!

me??...I'm writing/composing and performing some revolutionary truth....it has NOTHING to do with political anything.................................(they lie too much).

Don, you shine, when you stick to music!

Likewise, I'm sure.

"Don, you shine, when you stick to music!!"

Implying, I presume, that I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to politics, so I should just shut up and stick to music?

Did you take any Civics classes when you were in high school? The teacher of my high school history and civics classes acted as faculty advisor for a group of students who got together after school one afternoon a week for a discussion of current events. I was one of those students for two years.

Ever take any Political Science and/or Economics courses in college?   Philosophy? Ethics?

Have you ever read Plato's Republic? What was Plato's stance on the idea of democracy? For or against?

How about Thomas Hobbes? John Locke? Baruch Spinoza? Or the writings of Thomas Paine? Or James Madison?

Or Alexis de Tocqueville's monumental two volume work, Democracy in America?

More recent: Modern Political Philosophies by Louis Wasserman, a concise encyclopedia of the principles and characterists of the world's political systems and their philosophical and economic bases. Good reference book, but a bit dated now.

Excellent little book: First Democracy: The Challenge of an Ancient Idea, by Paul Woodruff. A description of Athenian democracy, how it worked (remarkably well, in fact!), and how it did not work (and how to fix it). The book contains a highly thought-provoking final chapter or afterword, entitled, "Are Americans Ready for Democracy?" Easy, fast read and very enlightening. Highly recommended!

A perusal of some of the works of George Lakoff (a linguist rather than a political writer) gives one a great deal of insight into the way political thinkers (and non-thinkers!) manipulate language in an effort to (of course!) manipulate the opinions of others.

There's a lot of that going on here on these Mudcat threads. It's a fascinating demonstration of some of the things Lakoff talks about to see the way many people use political labels while not having the foggiest notion of what the terms mean!

Have you ever worked on a political campaign? I have;   a number of times, having to do with both national and local candidates and issues.

Also, I am on old geek. I remember presidents, congressmen, and political campaigns (and the convolutions of rhetoric) from many decades ago. From FDR up to the present.

No, I don't think anyone could characterize me as "politically naïve." If anything, some people consider me a royal pain in the ass because I'm pretty good at identifying political pettifoggery, whether it be from national politicians, streetcorner campaigners, or blog-addicted mynah birds who frequent the BS threads here on Mudcat.

Note:   I do not belong to a political party.

Am I a political "rebel?" That depends upon where the person accusing me of that is coming from. I have well thought out and firm (but open to new input) ideas about political principles and ethics and, in general, how a free and open democracy should operate—to the maximum benefit of ALL it's citizens. To the plutocrat who is trying to get even richer by screwing as many people as possible, I'm undoubtedly a rebel. But to me, HE's the rebel, even if he IS the CEO of a multinational corporation. So it's a wash.

Another one to read:   William L. Schirer's, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. How did Hitler's Germany get that way? What were the dynamics involved? Could it happen again somewhere else?

Have you read what Benito Mussolini wrote about the relationship between the Corporations and the State in a Fascist government?

And what HE thought the Fasces, the symbol of a bundle of sticks tied around a battle-ax, actually symbolizes?

He oughtta know!

Fascinating! Scary! Think about it!

Don, You went off on what you THOUGHT I was IMPLYING....that's not what I meant!...at all. Just take it for face value: "You shine when it comes to music."...other than that, "Knowledge speaks; Wisdom listens."...

All of what you posted, in your last post, doesn't resolve the fact that both parties are corrupted by the very people who 'offer' the 'other' party for the solution...only to find out, that the root of the problem, is the same that is 'wrong' with the 'other party'.
its time NOT to listen to EITHER of them, and just stick to the truth...even if both parties only use partial amounts, of it, to manipulate people away from that which really is true...and keep from being discovered, who is really behind the two offered 'choices'.

Sorry if I misconstrued what you said, GfS.

As to the general corruption of both parties, I've been fully aware of this since I compared what Mr. Lawrence (the high school civics teacher I mentioned) said was the way things were supposed to be with what I soon became aware was really going on in the political realm.

Does one simply give up? I, for one, am not ready to do that yet.

Everything is cool Don...thanks for the reconsideration. By the way, your interest in music IS your greatest weapon!

Sawzaw, Thank you for your post!!..Maybe some die hard 'liberals' will see that the Democrats are far to full of bullshit, to represent even them!!
Lying, corrupt bastards!

..and to Joe Offer, you asked me a little while ago, to list the lies that Obama has told. So rather than, use MY list, I have a VERY liberal/progressive friend, a HUGE bluegrass and folk supporter, what he thought. To say the least, he is very disillusioned about the present administration, and hates Republicans with a passion. (makes Bobert seen like a Cub Scout!). Though he and his 'other half' avidly resents Christians, Conservatives, Zionists, Multi-national banking concerns, and they run a small business, in a small town..I thought, 'What a great person to ask, for his list'! Though we have greatly disagreed with each other in the past, and they actively supported Obama, at present, they are pretty pissed off at him! Through all this time, of huge disagreements, we have remained good friends, because all in all, we know each others hearts..and they are good and sincere people....(though I've contended that they have also been sincerely wrong...but that's another issue)...here is his list, of lies, from the Obama administration:

1. Vowed NOT to take outside money for his campaign..but reversed
   himself.
2. Transparency.
3. Campaigned that NO lobbyists would have a cabinet position.
4. Gitmo.
5. Was going to decrease the Mid-East war, then invades Afghanistan.
6. Extended Bush tax cuts, when he said he wasn't.
7. Single payer health care plan.
8. Said he was going to go after big pharma.
9. Bailouts to stimulate the economy, but gave it to his banker
   cronies.
10.Unemployment would not be above 8%.
11.Military tribunals.
12.Being against the 'Patriot Act', then extends it. (Joe Biden one of
   it's authors.)
13.OBL details, and false press releases and lying in his speech to
   the country. (again transparency)
14.Reneged on energy policy.
15.Claimed France was our closest ally.
16...and he finished with the verbatim quote, "Go back, and look at
his campaign promises..he broke about every one of them!"

Now, that being said, some of his broken promises, were OK with me, as to what he actually DID do...and once again, my friend and I still disagree..BUT, you asked me to list the lies, and so I did.
Jeez, my friend, for being so 'progressive' makes me look tame!...and I never thought of myself as being 'progressive'...but even back then, during the primaries, and my dated posts prove it, I clocked this guy as being a lying sack of 'manure'...and if you remember, I was calling him,'O-blabbo'.
Fair enough?
Shit, he even signed the guestbook at Westminster Abby with the wrong year!!...I think he is stuck in 2008, when he won the election...and that's ALL he cared about!(private observation)

Respectfully,

GfS

What we found is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech.

President Obama traveled to Ohio last week to tout [brag about] what the administration considers a good-news story: the rescue of the domestic automobile industry. In fact, he also made it the subject of his weekly radio address.

We take no view on whether the administration's efforts on behalf of the automobile industry were a good or bad thing; that's a matter for the editorial pages and eventually the historians. But we are interested in the facts the president cited to make his case.

What we found is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech. Virtually every claim by the president regarding the auto industry needs an asterisk, just like the fine print in that too-good-to-be-true car loan.

Let's look at the claims in the order in which the president said them.

"Chrysler has repaid every dime and more of what it owes American taxpayers for their support during my presidency -- and it repaid that money six years ahead of schedule. And this week, we reached a deal to sell our remaining stake. That means soon, Chrysler will be 100 percent in private hands."

Wow, "every dime and more" sounds like such a bargain. Not only did Chrysler pay back the loan, with interest -- but the company paid back even more than they owed. Isn't America great or what?

Not so fast. The president snuck in the weasel words "during my presidency" in his statement. What does that mean?

According to the White House, Obama is counting only the $8.5 billion loan that he made to Chrysler, not the $4 billion that President George W. Bush extended in his last month in office. However, Obama was not a disinterested observer at the time. According to The Washington Post article on the Bush loan, the incoming president called Bush's action a "necessary step . . . to help avoid a collapse of our auto industry that would have had devastating consequences for our economy and our workers."

Under the administration's math, the U.S. government will receive $11.2 billion back from Chrysler, far more than the $8.5 billion Obama extended.

Through this sleight-of-hand accounting, the White House can conveniently ignore Bush's loan, but even the Treasury Department admits that U.S. taxpayers will not recoup about $1.3 billion of the entire $12.5 billion investment when all is said and done.

The White House justifies not counting the Bush money because, it says, that money was completely spent when Obama was making a tough political decision on whether to extend another loan. In other words, a decision to do nothing at the time would have resulted in the immediate loss of the $4 billion that Bush had extended.

This is chicanery. Under the president's math, Chrysler paid back 100 percent of Obama's loan and less than 70 percent of Bush's loan. A more honest presentation would combine the two figures to say U.S. taxpayers got back 90 percent of what they invested. In fact, that is how the Treasury and other administration officials frequently portray it; it is just when Obama speaks that the numbers get so squishy.

The White House justifies saying that Chrysler will be in 100 percent "in private hands" because there will no longer be government ownership once Fiat completes its purchase of the U.S. stake. For the record, the United Auto Workers will own 46 percent of the company.

"All three American automakers are now adding shifts and creating jobs at the strongest rate since the 1990s."

The White House says the data to back this claim concerning the Big Three automakers is not public information. The official Bureau of Labor Statistics data refers to the entire auto industry -- including foreign auto manufacturers, auto parts manufacturers, auto parts dealers and auto dealers. If you look at the data, the 113,200 jobs added between June 2009 and May 2011 amounts to about a 5 percent increase -- from a rather low base.

UPDATE, 10:45 AM: Yen Chen, automotive business statistical analyst at the Center for Automotive Research, says CAR's analysis of Big Three auto data shows this statistic is correct. The Detroit Three are expected to add 10,000 hourly and 5,000 salaried workers this year, from a base of 115,805 hourly workers and 56, 432 salaried workers. That's an increase of about eight percent in each case. More than 16,000 hourly workers were added in 1991, but from a much higher base--440,000-- and 10,000 were also added in 1995, when there were 433,000 hourly workers. Meanwhile, salaried workers have been on a steady decline since 1990 (when the big Three employed 157,000).

"GM plans to hire back all of the workers they had to lay off during the recession."

This is another impressive-sounding but misleading figure. In the five years since 2006, General Motors announced that it would reduce its workforce by nearly 68,000 hourly and salary workers, creating a much smaller company. Those are the figures that generated the headlines.

Obama is only talking about a sliver of workers -- the 9,600 workers who were laid off in the fourth quarter of 2008. About 4,100 were sent home for a few weeks. Another 5,500 were put on indefinite leave, meaning there were no jobs at the time for them. All but 1,000 have returned to work, and the rest should be back at work by year's end, according to GM spokesman Greg A. Martin.

"In the year before I was President, this industry lost more than 400,000 jobs, and two great American companies, Chrysler and GM, stood on the brink of collapse. Now, we had a few options. We could have done what a lot of folks in Washington thought we should do -- nothing."

This is quite a straw man logical fallacy to say that "a lot of folks" wanted to do nothing. It was never a question. The debate was over the right course to take in the bankruptcy process.

The Wall Street Journal published Monday an interesting conservative critique of the government's intervention by David Skeel, a law professor at University of Pennsylvania. Skeel says that the revival of the auto industry "is a very encouraging development," but "to claim that the car companies would have collapsed if the government hadn't intervened in the way it did, and to suggest that the intervention came at very little cost, is a dangerous misreading of our recent history."

To support the claim that "a lot of folks" wanted to do nothing, the White House referred us to statements by the House minority leader, John Boehner (R-Ohio), and Sens. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) and Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.).

We do not read Boehner's quote that way; in this 2009 comment, he is questioning the administration's approach while saying, "The success of our automotive industry is critical."Shelby and Kyl in 2008 were protesting the use of taxpayer funds by Bush to delay a bankruptcy filing; they preferred immediately putting the companies through the bankruptcy process.

It will be up to historians to decide what the best solution would have been for taxpayers and the auto industry. We can understand why the president wants to portray himself as making a lonely and tough decision. But the debate was not either/or, bur rather what was the best policy to bring the automakers back to financial health.
The Pinocchio Test

The president is straining too hard. If the auto industry bailout is really a success, there should be no need to resort to trumped-up rhetoric and phony accounting to make your case. Let the facts speak for themselves.

And then they accuse us of 'spinning'!! I think in order to be a true blue Democrat, you have to be able not to see the truth, in just about anything....unless it 'feels good'....then they have to make a 'civil rights' issue out of it!!! That way they can justify their own irresponsibility!!...just launder the guilt, and provide equal retardation to EVERYONE!!
Think that might be why they had such a majority in Congress, for a while?

Weiner replied: 'wow a jewish girl who sucks ****! this thing is ready to do damage.

We've retained counsel to explore the proper next steps and to advise us on what civil or criminal actions should be taken. This was a prank. We are loath to treat it as more, but we are relying on professional advice.

Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., sent an email with photo of himself with his cats to Meagan Broussard of Texas on May 4, 2011. The email subject line reads "Me and the Pussys." (ABC News) and he had a nine-month 'sexting' relationship with a Las Vegas blackjack dealer named Lisa Weiss who exchanged sexual messages with Congressman Weiner and invited him to Las Vegas for a sexual encounter

The 40-year-old blonde Las Vegas woman claimed the congressman lied during his tear-jerking confession today and did in fact use government resources to send her sexually explicit messages.

Today Miss Weiss told RadarOnline.com and Star magazine: 'After a while I said to Anthony, "Why are writing these messages when we can just speak?"

'I gave him my number and he called me from his office and we proceeded to talk dirty for at least 30 minutes. A few days later, I tried to call him back on that number. But the number wouldn't connect to his office; instead there was a recorded message that it was an outgoing U.S. Congress line only.'

The casino worker, who once worked on a Democratic campaign, also said she had phone sex with Weiner on a Government telephone.

Today in a press conference in New York Weiner denied that he used government resources.

Miss Weiss agreed to come forward and be the first woman named of the six who the congressman admitted to sending lewd messages and photos.

She gave him her number via Facebook and when he realised he had missed her call, he sent her a message.

She said he wrote: 'How did I miss this chance to rock your world by phone? Give me another chance! Stalk me baby. Very hot.'

Miss Weiss said she had attempted to contact Weiner in the wake of the infamous crotch shot picture on Twitter.

She said: 'I wanted him to know that I had no intention of coming forward and our past was going to be kept hush hush.

'But he was a dog and didn't return my messages. I discovered that Anthony is a bad man... and a liar.'

She said she decided to come forward in the past 24 hours after Weiner's 'blatant lies.'

'I knew the truth all along. I couldn't believe that Anthony didn't own up from the outset.'

Today it was also revealed that in a sexually charged Facebook conversation, the Congressman discussed his 'package' with Miss Weiss who invited him to Las Vegas for a sexual encounter.

Weiner started by saying: 'Ridiculous bulge in my shorts now. wanna see?'

To which she replied: 'Yea! can u send a pic?'

He then said he would 'take a quick pic,' before adding: 'It wont go away. and now im taking pics of it. making me harder still.'

At one point Weiner even asked whether his social networking pen pal gave 'good' oral sex. On March 16, he wrote: 'You give good head?

She responded:'I've been told really good...and i love doing it.'

Weiner replied: 'wow a jewish girl who sucks ****! this thing is ready to do damage.'

In the smutty messages Weiner flirted with the woman and as she described the sexual scenarios the two could play out.

All the pissing contests aside;

THE WINNER IS for 2010 is

George W. Bush.

Begining with the campaign promise "I will not let the US become the polciceman for the world."

all the lies regarding WMD reasons for the invasion of foreign countries, Katrina inaction/anti FEMA, new Police State security torture agencies/Patriot act/domestic spying and free market anti regulation TARP socialism ...

to

"I will not say anything regarding policy or a sitting President."

tied for second is Cheney Rumsfeld.

Bringing up the roving right outfield ravings are the Wisconsin Govenor and Rick Santorum

Lieing about sex is so pedestrian that the winner of 2011 is still a crap shoot.

Trump and Palin are good contenders but not international in scope.

It wasn't Blather. It was Obama promises.

Despite Campaign Promises, President Obama Adopts President Bush's Policy of Secrecy

In his first several months in office, Obama has embraced Bush administration justifications to keep secret key government information. Most recently, the Secret Service rejected requests from two organizations for public access to White House visitors logs. The logs document the West Wing meetings that have helped shape Obama's policies on banking regulation, environmental policy, economic recovery and foreign affairs. The group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a lawsuit yesterday against the Obama administration, seeking the release of the visits by coal company executives to the White House

Bush lie: "domestic spying having a court order. "

When he was running for the U.S. Senate in 2003, Obama wrote: "Yes, I would vote to repeal the U.S. Patriot Act,"
In a speech to the American Library Association, he called for the Senate to rewrite the law to keep "Big Brother" from "peering over our shoulder." Yet when the Patriot Act came up for renewal in 2005, Obama compromised and voted alongside 88 other senators to reauthorize the law, even though the new version had only "modest" changes.

Obama Signs Extension of PATRIOT Act

President Obama has signed a law renewing three expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act The provisions empower law enforcement officials to obtain "roving wiretaps" on suspected foreign agents, track non-citizen "lone wolves" suspected of terrorism, and obtain certain business and even library records. The American Civil Liberties Union criticized lawmakers for passing the provisions without adding the proper privacy safeguards. The provisions were extended despite a warning from two Democratic senators that the U.S. Department of Justice has been secretly interpreting the PATRIOT Act in a way to enable domestic surveillance activities that many members of Congress do not even understand. Oregon Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden, a member of the Intelligence Committee, accused the Obama administration of relying on a secret law to expand domestic surveillance.

Sen. Ron Wyden: "Americans know that their government will sometimes conduct secret operations, but they don't believe the government ought to be writing secret law. And the reason why we have felt so strongly about this issue of secret law is that it violates the trust that Americans place in their government, and it undermines public confidence in government institutions and agencies, making it harder for them to operate effectively."

The 1973 War Powers Resolution was passed during the era of the Vietnam War to set out the powers of the president and Congress regarding U.S. military actions. It prohibits U.S. armed forces from being involved in military actions for more than 60 days without congressional authorization.

Reuters

President Barack Obama ignored legal advice from top Pentagon and Justice Department lawyers, siding with other advisers who said he had legal authority to continue air strikes against Libya without congressional approval, the New York Times reported on Friday.

Citing officials familiar with the administration's deliberations, the newspaper reported the Pentagon and Justice Department lawyers argued that the U.S. bombing runs over Libya, under NATO command, were "hostilities."

As such, Obama would have had to end or pull back the military flights after May 20 since he did not get backing from Congress for them under the War Powers Resolution.

The Times reported that Obama instead latched onto legal advice from inside the White House and the State Department that the bombing missions fell short of "hostilities" and that they could continue without the green light from Congress.

House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner, the top Republican in Congress, is pressuring the White House to detail the advice the Justice Department Office of Legal Counsel provided on the legality of continuing U.S. military activity against Libya, which is officially aimed at shielding civilians there from the forces of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

The Times story noted that it is rare for a president to override the legal opinions provided by that office.

The White House has acknowledged differences of opinion within the administration on the legal question.

It has maintained that U.S. military activity against Libya is limited, without any plans to commit ground troops. Democrats in Congress, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, have backed Obama's refusal to invoke the War Powers Act and have suggested the Libya mission is likely to end soon.
