Those who know I'm a student in the wonderful Sheffield might know I'm originally from sunny *cough* Manchester and will be returning home in a few weeks. Sheffield is the land of 17 sessions a night which I can find easy enough. Manchester I have no idea about. Any suggestions? Singarounds or playing, not bothered about either.

you will be most welcome at The Beech, Beech road, Chorlton M21 9EG.

1st & 3rd Wednesdays - songs and a few tunes mostly but not exclusively traditional.

2nd & 4th Wednesdays is our Tunes Session. We have a tune book with 82 tunes for those who can can play the dots. We play steady, mostly English tunes with a light heart and have much fun.

We have a Ceilidh Band, The Beech Band, of between 20 and 40 and play acoustically at various places.

I've already sent you a pm, and I'll try and get down there. Since I don't drive it might be difficult, but I live up in Eccles so it ain't that far from me.

When they open the tram route to Chorlton It should be easier to get from Eccles. We do have people who travel from Eccles in cars

White Lion - Swinton, Mondays. Depending where in Eccles you are it could be walkable. We used to walk over Eccles Fields to the Duke of York in our younger days. Or bus there and lift/cab back? Mainly Singers Nights with a periodic guest - Usualy around once a month.

Nah - that one is in Salford. Used to be owned by Beverly Callard of Coronation Street oddly enough... About 2 miles further on I'm afraid - Corner or Worsley Road and Chorley Road, Swinton. Just up from the arrow here.

I just realised - rewind a bit - I think the one near the hospital (Hope Hospital that is) is actualy the White Horse - apolgies if you didn't mean that one. Aside from that all else is the same!

White Lion session is in an over 25 pub, but I'll ask the landlord about it over the phone.

I'm looking at Stockport sessions, because Chorley could be a real pain to get to.
