I think it is a variant on the G just before the end of the song during the refrain,just being curious not too fussy! Anybody else notice it or am I getting confused in my old age?

You mean the Em (E minor)? That is pretty common as well, and in fact I don't hear anything uncommon.

I've watched Ellen perform this on You Tube and have worked out most of the common chords in the song but what is that chord after the G? If there is anyone out there who knows please let me in on the secret!
