I tried to post this earlier but it just didn't appear. Oh well - try again!

trac is organizing a day of workshops on June 11 which might be of interest to some here.

SINGERS: learn some Welsh folk songs, and the basics of Cerdd Dant with Arfon Gwilym and Gwenan Gibbard. There will be separate classes for Welsh speakers and for non-Welsh speakers so that everyone will get the best from the day.

GUITARISTS: Dan KilBride (KilBride Brothers, Hwntws, Taran, et al), accompanied by brother Bernard, will be leading a second stream of activity for guitarists – whether you play accoustic, electric, classical, bass … whatever.

Both the singing and the guitar days are being held at the Arad Goch Centre, Stryd y Baddon, Aberystwyth – a few minutes walk from the train and bus stations.

DANCERS: Clogmaker Trefor Owen, working with trac, is organizing workshops from 10 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. at Ysgol Treferthyr, Cricieth with three outstanding cloggers of Wales: Hannah Rowlands, a familiar Eisteddfod competitor; Penny Sheard of City Clickers and Gwerinwyr; and Huw Williams, possibly Wales' only professional clogger and guitarist/dancer with Crasdant". For these workshops, people are asked to bring clogs if they have them, but hard-soled shoes will do just as well (sandals and trainers really aren't suitable). There will be some clogs available to borrow but numbers and sizes will be limited.

For further information, contact trac on 02920 318863 or PM me.

sian
