Yes I have a lot of his music, you can download it on Itunes. I especially like his version of "Down Where The Drunkards Roll" Absolutely brilliant.

I've got to say that he comes across as really nice too, on the training video.

I find it incredibly inspiring. I'm glad his rep is as a good guy, man he makes the blues sound good.

@ alanabit: well, he still lives in Vienna and does a couple of gigs in small clubs and big places as well either solo or with his band or with other artists

his wife and manager, milica, also manages the dubs and brings them to Vienna for 5 days en suite. Milica also was the first one to bring the irish St. Patrick's day to vienna (with the Dubliners, Wild Geese and many other artists).

I'm glad to say that I know both of them (Hans as well as Milica) for a couple of years now and Hans is not only a great musician and guitarist but also a really nice guy too.

Rule No 1, when posting about an artist you have just discovered, never ever reveal that you have just discovered him/her.

If you do, you will inevitably trigger off a multitude of knee-jerk responses from people who can't wait to reveal that they have known for years, drank with, or went to school with, said artist .

Best to say something along the lines of ..."just heard XXX's latest CD , he/she is sounding better than when I first heard him/her over 20 years ago ..."

I saw him in a small place in Wien a few years ago, when he was living there. A fine artist indeed.

Yes, I wasn't TELLING anyone so much as acknowledging how on earth did I miss him.

I love his music. As I said, if you like acoustic blues, this guy is excellent.

I too now have his Homespun Video tutorial on the blues. He comes across really well.

He's been a regular guest at Walthamstow for a few years now.

names vaguely familiar, think I listened to some of his CDs
very late at night through headphones
a few winters back..

If it was him, then it was a very fitting soundtrack for relaxing
and enjoying a bottle of malt or 2..

Been around for years mate, done loads of stuff with other artistes.
He did a great tribute album for Derroll Adams
Well woth a listen.

Am I the only person in the world that hadn't heard about this great acoustic blues artist?

I am SO impressed, great voice, great technique and a Dutchman singing blues better than many of HIS heroes!!!

Well worth a listen if you like the genre.
