Carl Gardner, lead singer on many of The Coasters best known songs recently passed away aged 83.
I think the 1950/60s work they did with Lieber and Stoller was some of the best R'n'B/DooWop material ever. Funny with the occasional hint of social comment.
RIP Mr. Gardner. Yakety Yak.........
