I recently heard a guy playing and he was wearing gold (colored) guitar finger picks- tho I think they were made of brass. Does anyone use them? , he claimed they gave a warmer tone, which I am always partial to.

Jim Dunlop USED to do a Bronze Thumb and Finger pick set for Banjo - Only two finger picks ,so I used to buy two sets at a time !
I think they may have discontinued then because the thumb picks wore down a bit fastif you were a bit 'heavy thumbed' !
I wish they still did them !!
