I have had a hankerin for a while to play some bass guitar. I was at a community garage sale and saw this bass guitar sitting there in pieces. I decided to pick it up and rehab it. Neck looked good, needs a nut, I am going to have to rewire the electronics, and I will have to reset the neck. I have never done any of these things, but they certainly are within my abilities. When I started to look around the internet, I can find no mention, or any images of this guitar. It looks to be a late 60's or 70's knockoff of the Hofner violin bass that Sir Paul made famous. Here are some pictures:

Can anyone shed any light on this thing? I thought it might be fun to refinish it, reset the neck, upgrade the electronics, and use it to get my chops right on bass guitar. Any and all comments are welcome, and if any of you can find a reference to it, I would appreciate a link. REMEMBER, we are talking about the Astral BB, not the Astral II that Jack White plays. There are plenty of references to that.

All the best,

Mick
