I sang this accompanied by my shruti box at the Good Intent this Rochester Sweeps. Went down pretty well, even though I didn't have much voice left from singing (read wailing) the night before. I credited Kat and Judi after I finished the song and have already had an email inquiry about it.

It is so good lyrically and melodically, I couldn't do but so much damage to it. ;~)

In case anyone was interested in my book and had trouble ordering it, I have now fixed it. CafePress had messed up my original pdf file so has been rejecting orders without contacting me! Anyway, I just uploaded it all over, again, and it should be good to go. I have also lowered the price a bit.

Next stop, Amazon, I hope. Have to check their requirements for files, etc.

Folks, I know she isn't around here any more, but most of the credit, imo, must go to Judi. I posted the poem way back in 2000, written in a spontaneous moment of creativity (remember those days on Mudcat?!) It was Judi who added to the words and added the tune, plus produced it with some mates of hers. She is a true professional who has performed all over the world and written some beautiful songs which are very well-known, including Sweet Ballyvaughan. I was so excited and pleased when she first contacted me about doing more with it. As you can see, we shortened the title, thank goodness. Bride of the Waves of Sorrow?? C'mon, sounds too much like Bride of Frankenstein or something!**bg**

Anyway, thanks, again. I love the folk process.:-)

I have finally worn down Kats resistance after over a year and got permission to go public on YouTube with this haunting version of her poem, sung by Judi McKeown.

Personally, I think this is absolutely brilliant collaboration between Kat and Judi, and just a shame most people had to wait since January 2010 to hear it.

But at least it's now out there for all and sundry to listen too.
