There used to be a very good singing session in the BF in the early 1980's led by Frank McCall. It had to stop when the pub closed for refurbishment but those were great nights.

Looks like the Baltic Fleet has developed a lot since I knew it in the 60's. It was euphamistically known as the Baltic Cafe when we used it for our lunch & evening breaks. We were able to park our liveried vans out of site round the back. We also had some great singing nights there and it was also a favourite haunt of the "Pill pushers " from Ayron Saunders.
What memories of Liverpool in the old?? days
Would love to get back there one day

Hiya Everyone,
It certainly was a great night. Good company, good beer and loads of great songs. What better place for a Maritime based sing too than the Baltic Fleet. Have a look at the history. We didn't see any of the ghosts though.
I'll have a word with Simon about running another evening or possibly a monthly session
Cheers
Doxy

The Baltic Fleet has its own excellent brewery, is next door to an Ibis Hotel, a short walk from James Street Station, and also easily accessible from the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.

Damn, I'd love to hear this but I doubt I'll be back in town by then.

(and the Baltic Fleet is a great pub, as has been noted before!)

Hi Everyone,
The Risor Shanty Choir are visiting the UK next weekend. We have arranged to be able to sing with them on the evening of 09/07/11 from about 8pm in The Baltic Fleet pub in Liverpool. This is a free event so if you are in the area and want to come along and watch or join in with the choruses you are very welcome. Singers we know will be there so far are:-
Trim Rig and a Doxy,
Risor,
Andy Kenna
Mick McGarry

We hope some of you can make it,

Cheers

Doxy
