Subject: Fiddle Chords and Rythm / Comping From: GUEST,Rusty Date: 14 Jul 11 - 05:59 PM First of all apologies if this is in the wrong area or has already been discussed at length (if so I can't see it). Right now on to the interesting bit.... I would love to know how other fiddlers are playing backings behind vocals etc. You could call this comping, rhythm playing. I am sure there are many better ways but I am generally playing basic chords with a staccato pattern perhaps with the odd longer arco note or run thrown in. I am also playing the Darol Anger and Casey Driesen style chop (pretty badly but I try!) What sort of chord patterns are you guys playing? Any input would be great. Thanks in advance. |
