Subject: Whirby Accom available - 2 + 1 From: GUEST,cujimmy Date: 21 Jul 11 - 01:12 PM A bedroom with double bed and a single futon bed available for Whitby folk week, suitable for possibly a couple and a singe person. Myself and friend Andrew have booked accomodation here http://www.sykescottages.co.uk/cottage/North-York-Moors-Coast-Whitby/Maplebeck-1684.html http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=YO22%204NY&hl=en&tab=nl it is a bit of a walk from Whitby via the road, but the bridge you can see in the photo is - part of the old railway path from Whitby to Scarborough via Robin Hoods Bay so as far as I can see its about a mile or so along the path from the Prospect Hill / A171 Junction. If you walk south in the other direction, it is about 4 miles to Robin Hoods Bay where there are some festival fringe events take place. So there is a room with a double bed available and a single futon bed in the living room up for grabs - The house cost £555 so it would cost £111 each. Please contact me on ocujimmy@hotmail.com Please note though - some people have contacted me already who thought it was too far out of town to walk with instruments etc. |

Subject: RE: Whirby Accom available - 2 + 1 From: GUEST,cujimmy Date: 21 Jul 11 - 04:57 PM I think by walking along the old railway path it wont be too bad - thats my opinion though. ok elves hep me out here. |
Subject: RE: Whitby Accom available - 2 + 1 From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 22 Jul 11 - 01:32 PM If you walk 4 miles south from here you'll be on the moors ! It's not a long walk from here into town, providing you have a modicum of fitness, however at the end of the night it may be a trek to walk up Spittal Bridge and through Larpool down to the house. I would estimate it's over 1 1/2 miles by road from the Swing Bridge and the path on the west side of the river does not go as far as this house. From the west side of town it may not be as long down the old railway line. |
