At my neighbour's funeral, they played Sailing By as the coffin was carried in. We were all in tears, he adored sailing, and his little boat, Cinnabar, had to be taken away on a low-loader the following week. So sad.

If you put the radio on just before midnight you've got the best part of an hour to listen to it before 'Sailing By'.

In the good old days Boat Band boat-touring days we used to used to leave gigs by boat. It gave me an inordinate fondness for Sailing By ever since, listening to the shipping forecast in the wheel house. Those were the days

Anyone here catch "Sailing By"* on the way home from a late gig?.

Whenever I drive home from a hectic or noisy gig, I always put the radio on in the car just before midnight - instant relaxation for a tired musician - and I know that home and bed is on its way... Anyone else a "Sailing By" addict?
