This Saturday we have something very much out of the ordinary at the Seven Stars, Foots Cray High Street, Sidcup, DA14 5HJ

We have invited three separate classical players who are boldly prepared to play unadulterated classics in our unpretentious but friendly community pub.

We have classical guitar from international virtuoso Matthew Sear who runs the local Bexley and Sidcup Guitar Society. Also on the bill is Jo Honey who will treat us to Debussy and Schubert on keyboard and to complete the classical section we have Janet Payne who will open with a Norwegian Polka and Wedding March played on an 8 string Hardanger Fiddle. Janet will follow that up with pieces from Pachelbel, Strauss and Puccini.

Classical music like this has rarely been so accessible

There will also be open mic and to change the mood completely we shall finish the evening with the return by popular demand of Medway fivesome The Rustic Ramblers and their upbeat American Folk.

Show starts 8.30pm and snacks can be ordered from the bar

In addition to those above we have Dave Kenningham and Zahira Al-Zahira, Taylor Louise Notcutt, Robin Slater, Joe Amphlett + 1 and Paul Green.

In view of these advance bookings we are unlikely to have more than two floor spots available on the night.

Sounds great. It's good that some people put a lot of work into providing us musos with quality free entertainment on a regular basis. Well done Mr Rafflesbear.
