Subject: Review: Tribute Musicals: why do people attend?? From: Christine Sayegh Date: 09 Aug 11 - 08:29 PM Hello all, Musical tributes have existed for a long time now, and "imitation" and "covering" is becoming more and more popular nowadays. It is what is making the music industry survive. Repackaging the same music in different ways in order to attract different audiences. I am currently writing my MA dissertation about tribute concerts that occur in the West End in London. Specifically Thriller - Live, the tribute to Michael Jackson, and Mamma Mia! the tribute to ABBA. If you have watched any of those musicals in the West End in London, would you please participate in my anonymous survey that should take up to 10 minutes maximum. Also, please feel free to circulate it around to people whom you know have seen any of the two shows. You can find the survey on https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/822JV59 If you have any other opinions you would like to share, please post your thoughts which might result in a highly interesting discussion! Many thanks in advance to all those who would participate in my research! Christine |
