The Llanelli 1911 Strike Committee and Folk Club have got together to organise a night to commemorate the 1911 Llanelli Rail Strike in which two local people were shot dead by soldiers.The theme is 'Protest' .It is an open mic night and performers are encouraged to sing trade union, protest or railway songs!
Venue is The Queen Vic Club, Queen Victoria Rd, Llanelli , South Wales and the date is Wed ,17th August ..from 7.30 to 11pm.
All welcome.
Theis event is part of a week long series of events aimed at remembering the events of 1911 so that they are not airbrushed out of history.
