Welcome to Owston Ferry Folk perma thread which is dedicated to the monthly meeting at the Crooked Billet, South Street, Owston Ferry. We have been going for some months now and have managed to keep the numbers up even during the summer months of festivals so are hoping for an even bigger attendance during the autumn/winter period. We work on a singaround format with some jamming for those who feel confident enough and also enjoy an audience of chorus participants. All are welcome and guaranteed a friendly atmosphere.
This is an edited PermaThread®, intended to provide information about the monthly meetings of Owston Ferry Folk. Feel free to post to this thread, but be aware that your message may be edited or deleted when it is no longer needed. The editor of this thread is Murpholly.

Back to Thursday and looking forward to a good turn out and lots of singing and dancing. The fella watched Titanic the other day and I bet he can't play Jack's olka that fast!

Sorry not to have posted before but the concrete laying workmen arrived and it is far too hot for me anyway. Despite holidays we had a really good session with Musket and Rookery making their annual guest appearance. Good to see you lads and a good night was enjoyed by all. Perhaps they will come more often now! See you all next month.

We shall be there this Thursday but with holidays and weddings it looks like numbers will be depleted. Oh well, we shall enjoy ourselves and will welcome all and sundry.

Always a joy.

Can't make it this month, sadly. Thursdays are quite busy at the moment.

A bit late reminding you all this month. We spent yesterday evening in Bradford with some of our fellows at the club where we first met! Tonight's the night and hopefully a few will be back from holidays so see you all there for an evening of music and mayhem.

A clash of dates, sickness and other excuses so we were just three but we had a fabulous time. The pub also was in its post Christmas dearth
so we shall hope for a better turn out next month.

We had a really good night last night with all the usual group plus. Lots of tunes, lots of songs, just sad it was so cold. See you all in April.

The snow has gone at long last and we have not had too much rain for 24 hours so hopefully the better weather they keep promising will mean all roads to the Billet will be open and we can have a rousing and cheerful night on Thursday. Hope to see you all then.

Everyone in summer clothing - in fact we were the only ones inside as the rest of the customers were sat outside enjoying a barmy evening. We had a most enjoyable time with some new songs and different instruments. Hope to see you all next month after our holiday.

Despite football on the T.V (with no sound and no one watching) we had a wonderful night last night with a new player whom we had met in a music shop. Our fan Michael bought us all a drink as this was the last session he would be listening to as he is off to America to live with his daughter and we had a new fan who even gave us some applause! It was a cheerful musical night and we shall hope for another next month.
