Nak Marker was indeed a stand-out.

Best laugh: Steve Quattrocchi's version of What A Waste Of Good Corn Likker.

Mishaps, mg?

Janet Michael was very interesting..she was a Newfoundlander of Arabic and Irish descent..sang some traditional Newfoundland songs and some she had written that were quite witty. Jill King is one in a million and one of the reasons I made the long trip there along with a couple of other people I am so crazy about. Eric and Betty Armstrong were great..they did the best version of Rolling Home I have probably ever heard..I have an amazing MP3 of it with Roger H singing so prettily along and then on the other side..a tone-deaf person...I tried all different sorts of ways to put the headphones on so I wouldn't hear him but oh well..mg

No similar moments, although I understand that Orkestar Slivovica are supposed to be coming to next year's festival.   Is that right, Jon and Rika?

Ballad singers this year were Rosaleen Gregory, Janet Michael, Marian Buechert, Chris Roe, Jon Bartlett and Rika Ruebsaat, Jill King (?), Jasmine Fiona (a fine young singer), and I'm not sure who I've missed.

Nakos was there last year with his father, and was good back then.
Who were this year's traditional ballad singers? Last year, the Orkestar Slivovica led everyone in an impromptu multi-ethnic-music concluding parade at the end of the festival, visiting business sponsors in the town who were too busy catering to the crowds to make it to the stages. Any similar special moments this year?

Heard an amazing dobro player. A young kid (looks about 19( from Bellingham named Nakos Marker.   Part of a father and son duo playing blues and old-timey.

mg and I just back from 2011 Princeton festival. "Never see collection of great singers like that again" she says. Well worth the drive and the mishaps . . .
