Subject: Stolen Guitar From: Hawker Date: 01 Sep 11 - 06:32 PM Hi all, My Nephew just posted this on facebook, he lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, if you are in that area keep your eyes peeled! Hey folks, a sad day indeed. My faithful Fender Stratocaster has gone walkies. It was left backstage at George Sq. and has not been seen since. In the unlikely event that anyone sees it please let me know - serial No. 028242212 - Butterscotch cream Deluxe Series with white scratch plate, maple neck and blue strap...No it´s not insured and yes I´m a douche-bag for leaving it there...boo who! Pleas PM me if you can help! Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: Stolen Guitar-Fender Stratocaster EdinburghScotlan From: GUEST,Bluesman Date: 01 Sep 11 - 07:34 PM Put up photographs in second hand shops, pubs and clubs, make it hot property. Contact any local journalist you know to run a story, or put an ad in local press, remember to state that it is chipped/electro tagged. It may not get it back, but the "new owner" may think twice about keeping it. I tell everyone my two guitars are tagged. |
Subject: RE: Stolen Guitar-Fender Stratocaster EdinburghScotlan From: Jack Campin Date: 01 Sep 11 - 09:14 PM Photographs? All electric guitars look the same (or at any rate you can guarantee that there are 50 guitars currently on sale in Edinburgh shops that nobody could tell apart from this stolen one without an intimate knowledge of scratches and serial numbers). Some sort of expensive electric guitar was stolen in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago and recovered in about a day, with two arrests. So the police seem reasonably efficient about it. |

I always though the Butterscotch Blonde Strat wasn't that common. Thanks for the heads up Jack, please supply addresses, I will get up tomorrow. |
Subject: RE: Stolen Guitar-Fender Stratocaster EdinburghScotlan From: Hawker Date: 06 Sep 11 - 02:06 PM Just had this message from My nephew, thanks all. "A massive thanks to everyone for trying to locate my guitar. I have pent the week speaking with police, venue staff, shops and the press, all to no avail. The Evening News ran a story and usually I´d be happy to get a mention, but I was sad. Not drunk enough to cry. So I got drunk. Spoke to God, Johnny Cash, Zappa, Elvis and Buddha, then fell asleep by the toilet. Woke up in bed? and still no guitar....However I just had a call from Assembly staff and it has been found in Camden town!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassss!!!!!!! So big thanks to Ruari Cormack for playing Sherlock and all you FB & Mudcat folks for doing your bit to help. If there is a God - he´s grooving to Hendrix!" Cheers, Lucy |
