From: Art Thieme
Date: 27 Sep 99 - 06:16 PM

Cathy Fink just sent this to me: Art--We need help looking for a song. Marcy heard it on TV years ago and the opening line or chorus is, "All nations love banana" or "All the nations like banana" Got any clues?
Thanks,
Cathy

I figured we could locate here if anywhere.

Cathy Fink is looking for it, Art? Heck, she's one of the performers on the album. Well, I guess I can understand, since it's a compilation. It's a Rounder album called Rainbow Sign (click me). That particular cut is called "Banana," recorded by Flor de Cana (click again).

"Flor de Cana" is an excellent brand of nicaraguan rum -- well, actually, it's THE brand of 'nican rum. It there a connection?

(means flower of the sugar cane ...)

[Besides the album described by Joe Offer above, this is also on Flor de Cana's album "Muevete! (Move It!)" Flying Fish LP 463, 1988, which has been re-released as a CD.]
