EFDSS publicity leaves a great deal to be desired...

Rooms in Cecil Sharp House are hired for rehersals and private functions by a number of organisations and individuals. Such a hire would not be listed in EFDSS publicity

Okay. I hope it's a great success.

I still don't think anybody should travel to the Cecil Sharp house without getting verification from them.

Hi Leenia, I understand your concerns but I do know the opening poster of the original thread. Knowing his integrity it's likely to be a real & fun event.

I just hope there's a way for Folks who can't attend the rehearsal date to join in. I think the idea of a rehearsal on the day would be good. Rehearsal clashes with Whittlebury where over 80 of the best unaccompanied singers around will be for the weekend.

C'mon Gervase, any chance????

I'm beginning to wonder if this is somebody's idea of a practical joke. I checked the website of the English Folk Song and Dance Society, which seems to operate the Cecil Sharp House, and there is no mention of a practice in their list of events.

It's strange that no events are listed for September on their web site, but what can I say?

It's also odd that Billy's notice gives the day to practice but not the time. That is a mistake that an experienced organizer would not be likely to make.

I believe further checking is warranted.

It has a misleading title, using the name of a club in another part of London.
