Subject: On In Kail Mo Bo Tott From: GUEST,Manuel Date: 10 Sep 11 - 01:40 PM As a very young schoolboy in the 1950s in what was then the British colony of British Honduras, I heard heard older schoolmates singing a song that may have been entitled "On in kail mo bo tott". Many years later, in the mid 1970s, I was drinking with some British soldiers in a bar in Belize City when they burst out in song. One of the songs they sang was the very song in question. In the midst of the merrymaking, I omitted to find out the name of this really delightful song. I shall be very grateful if someone out there will be good enough to help me with the true name of this song and some or all of its lyrics. |

Subject: RE: On In Kail Mo Bo Tott From: GUEST,Manuel Date: 10 Sep 11 - 02:38 PM This is too good (not to say fast) to be true! Many thanks, indeed, to all three of you, viz. GUEST Bardford, Paul Burke and Jeri. Amongst you, you have made my day. This is the song that has been on my mind for ever so long. It evokes a wealth of nostalgic recollections. God bless each one of you. |

Subject: RE: On In Kail Mo Bo Tott From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 12 Sep 11 - 02:05 PM This has made me laugh ever so much. I read the poster's question and thought it sounded like a Creole or other language, but it WAS vaguely familiar. Now I see what it really is, I feel a bit of a fool! Big smile! |
