Subject: Sung by Bernard Cribbins From: o'toole.tom.t@bhp.com.au Date: 28 Sep 99 - 08:00 AM Bernard Cribbins had a few comical hit songs i nthe 60s in the UK. I remember one about a whole in the ground (so big and sorta round) and another about moving a piano (right said fred,.....so we had a cup of tea). Bernard Cribbins also sang the Wombles of Wimbildon Common theme tune. Does any one know where I can get the lyrics for any of these songs? ta TOT |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Sung by Bernard Cribbins From: Steve Parkes Date: 28 Sep 99 - 08:08 AM The song was '"Right" said Fred'. He also did 'Folksong' (I think: Upon the Monday morning/The sun it was a-shining/My love she came to me and said/Oh when will you and I be wed/For I have bought a double bed/And Mother is complaining/And all the day the sun it was a-shining) and 'Gossip calypso' - not very pc, but funny at the time. It's only a matter of time before our fellow 'Catters provide the words, discography, ethno-musicology, etc. Steve |
