Subject: Musique chants et danses de Bretagne From: Fred McCormick Date: 17 Sep 11 - 07:23 AM I've just come across a disc on the Keltia label called Musique chants et danses de Bretagne. It's offered for sale very cheap but, as there's no track or artist listings, or any description of the music on the CD, I've no idea whether it's worth buying. Does anybody own a copy and can they tell me what's on there? If it turns out to be authentic Breton music I'll have it like a shot. Many thanks. |

Subject: RE: Musique chants et danses de Bretagne From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 17 Sep 11 - 08:22 AM Dominig Bouchaud is a fabulous - and genuine Breton - harper. The music looks like it's taken from a variety sources, but I see what appear to be some Breton-language titles in there. Worth a gamble, I'd say? |

Subject: RE: Musique chants et danses de Bretagne From: Fred McCormick Date: 17 Sep 11 - 11:44 AM Hi folks. Thanks for the info, and to Monique for pointing me towards the sound clips. Unfortunately, as far as I'm concerned, there's only one way to imbibe Breton music, and that's straight from the wood. Which means I found 4 (I think)sound clips out of 16 which I would have probably enjoyed. One to give a miss to, methinks, but thanks once again. |
