Subject: RE: Lyr Req: St. Vincent Folk song Bum bi Thelma From: GUEST Date: 22 Sep 11 - 08:03 AM I've looked basically on the web, visiting Patriotic songs of SVG(as well as Jamaican folk songs and Trini ones), I'm not sure if the song originates from St. Vincent but it's an old folk song that I use to sing when I was younger. I'm pretty sure there's a book with a lot of folk songs that some teacher's here may use but I'm unavailable to gain access to one to check it's contents. Thank you for replying :D |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: St. Vincent Folk song Bum bi Thelma From: Joe Offer Date: 23 Sep 11 - 12:43 AM Apparently, "Moon does run till daylight does catch up with him..." is a common phrase in the English-speaking Caribbean. See trinizagada.com; or "moon does run till day light ketch it," a Guyanese proverb at http://weekendmirror.com. -Joe- |
