I just think that it is a shame not use channels such as Mudcat to publicise these events more. I have nothing to do with this event but thought it worth starting this thread as I did for Otley festival last week only because nobody else had.

Producing a website is not enough - you have to make it very visible to people. When we ran the People's voice festival in Beverley ten years ago our main medium for free publicity was the internet and Mudcat in particular. At one stage the links were so many that anyone typing one or more of the words "festival", "folk" or "beverley" into a search engine got our website as the first hit!

Hope it's not too much of a secret! We're looking forward to taking Jo our fiddler back to her native Yorkshire for the first time with The Bounty Hounds.

We're on last up on Saturday and again Sunday afternoon.

Hope to see some of you there!

John

Is it me or are all the local festivals taking place in secret? I've only just come across this festival at the New Inn in Cropton when looking for another event:

The New Inn is a brew pub and regularly holds beer festivals and music events
