Beautiful singing - not over-ornamented like many young trad singers today. He's in Bb so the guitar tuning cant possibly be open D,or DADGAD, he's just tuned to a major chord - er, Bb? It works, and sounds wonderfully old-fashioned.

You can be sincere and still be stupid. ~Charles F. Kettering

GloriaJ and GSS, you are of course correct and I stand corrected I failed to even consider plugging the tuner into the laptop to find out what key he was actually singing in!!!!

Still the tuning looks interesting and I may even give it a go myself.

Regards

Chris

I tuned my guitar to that tuning just before I went out to work this evening. To be honest it didnt sound much like the you tube version! That said there there cant be many other ways to tune to open Bb. I only did it quickly so when I have a bit more time to fiddle around with it I'll give it another go.

Chris
