I can't get enough of this woman's singing and I need a piece of advice.I am wondering if Christine Collister ever recorded a song titled "Boulder To Birmingham" with a group called "Daphne's Flight"?I saw her sing this on a popular video web-site and was overwhelmed.

I think Daphne's Flight only made one CD and that track isn't on it. Christine has lots of short-run special projects on her website and occasionally offers free downloads so perhaps a version may turn up there.

She's coming to Jagz, Ascot on Oct 13th. The booker tells me he thinks she's the best female singer in the country today. Sadly, I have a prior engagement.

Well, the booker just might be right - in my opinion.
Here she is singing Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle".
A very impressive rendition.

Much prefered her singing with the wonderful Clive Gregson.

I saw her with Clive Gregson a few times, including the year when Gregson and Collister were the opening act for Richard Thompson and also played in his band.

The duo act provided variety, not to mention excellent harmonies. By herself, great singer though she is, I can't take more than a few songs in one sitting.

That last comment about Chrisine's singing is interesting,

"By herself, great singer though she is, I can't take more than a few songs in one sitting"

I think that's down to the intensity of her singing style.
Because she has a powerful voice, she tends to blast the audience with that power.
I think she'd be well adviced to hold back on that power a lot of the time.

The live album "Home and Away" from Clive Gregson and Christine Collister is very good quality both in terms of recording and content - now available as a digital remaster of the original..
