Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: Reinhard Date: 26 Sep 11 - 09:30 AM At least part of it; 5 tracks were recorded at Woolwich Tramshed. For more details see Home and Away. |

Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: Bonzo3legs Date: 26 Sep 11 - 08:00 AM Is that the one recorded in The Tramshed, Woolwich? |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 26 Sep 11 - 07:59 AM The live album "Home and Away" from Clive Gregson and Christine Collister is very good quality both in terms of recording and content - now available as a digital remaster of the original.. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,Tunesmith Date: 26 Sep 11 - 06:18 AM That last comment was from me. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST Date: 26 Sep 11 - 06:17 AM That last comment about Chrisine's singing is interesting, "By herself, great singer though she is, I can't take more than a few songs in one sitting" I think that's down to the intensity of her singing style. Because she has a powerful voice, she tends to blast the audience with that power. I think she'd be well adviced to hold back on that power a lot of the time. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: michaelr Date: 25 Sep 11 - 04:11 PM I saw her with Clive Gregson a few times, including the year when Gregson and Collister were the opening act for Richard Thompson and also played in his band. The duo act provided variety, not to mention excellent harmonies. By herself, great singer though she is, I can't take more than a few songs in one sitting. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: Bonzo3legs Date: 25 Sep 11 - 04:05 PM Much prefered her singing with the wonderful Clive Gregson. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,Azoic Date: 25 Sep 11 - 02:14 PM What is the best engineered and miked live cd?I would like to buy a cd that tis representative of Collister live in concert. |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,Tunesmith Date: 25 Sep 11 - 01:42 PM Well, the booker just might be right - in my opinion. Here she is singing Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle". A very impressive rendition. Youtube link |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST Date: 25 Sep 11 - 01:31 PM "The booker tells me he thinks she's the best female singer in the country today. Sadly, I have a prior engagement." sadly the booker isn't quite right!! |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 25 Sep 11 - 11:43 AM She's coming to Jagz, Ascot on Oct 13th. The booker tells me he thinks she's the best female singer in the country today. Sadly, I have a prior engagement. RtS |

Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,Ray Date: 25 Sep 11 - 10:41 AM Is this what you mean? |
Subject: RE: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,davemc Date: 25 Sep 11 - 05:48 AM I think Daphne's Flight only made one CD and that track isn't on it. Christine has lots of short-run special projects on her website and occasionally offers free downloads so perhaps a version may turn up there. |
Subject: Christine Collister discussion From: GUEST,Azoic Date: 25 Sep 11 - 05:28 AM I can't get enough of this woman's singing and I need a piece of advice.I am wondering if Christine Collister ever recorded a song titled "Boulder To Birmingham" with a group called "Daphne's Flight"?I saw her sing this on a popular video web-site and was overwhelmed. |
