I heard Jeff Cahil perform this, and he was even kind enough to name the songwriter, but of course I promptly forgot it. Anyone know it, or the songwriter, or where I can find it? Damned clever tune.

I'm pretty sure its a Cliff Eberhardt (sp?)song...I heard him do it, anyway, and he does mostly original tunes. It IS clever.

All of these listed above were rip-offs of a song that appeared in an off Broadway revue and later on CBS TV's Comedy Zone back in the early 80s. (I worked with the writers: Bernstein and Markell) And when I say "rip-offs," I don't mean "isn't it odd that several people had the same idea at different times?" I mean - ripped off.

I wish our guest had provided lyrics or a link to a recording of the song he claims so adamantly was 'ripped-off'. The sentiment in the songs is so widespread that I would be surprised if there are not more songs in which it is expressed that are utterly unrelated to any of these.
