Saturday 26th November, in Combe Martin, N. Devon

'Serving the Song'
Pete accompanies songs on bouzouki, 5-string banjo, melodeon or Appalachian dulcimer so he can choose which instrument best conveys the atmosphere of each song he's arranging. He then works out a basic accompaniment, adds variations which can enhance narrative ballads, support seasonal songs, energise work songs or drive choruses - all of which leads to effective performances and a varied repertoire.

Participants are encouraged to bring any instrument(s), recording devices and several copies of a song they're working on to share with others. Pete will also provide a selection of songs for group arrangements. Non-instrumentalists, particularly singers who work with accompaniment, are also very welcome.

Just £12 for the day (£10 for members of Shammick Acoustic)

For a booking form, go to the Shammick Acoustic website.

I attended a similar work shop run by Pete at Whitby last year. It was a great help and a must for any one who sings and plays. N Devon is a little too far for a day trip from N Cambridgeshire or I would have been there. Gan Canny Brian
