I saw him at the mill race festival a few years ago. I wish he would come back. He is a fantastic performer.

Tom Lewis in Concert
October 1, 7:30 pm
Phinney Neighborhood Center
6532 Phinney Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98103

North America's foremost nautical songwriter, Tom Lewis, is a charismatic performer whose singing is as good as his songwriting. A veteran of the British Royal Navy, he draws on his past maritime experiences and travels. Tom's own songs have become folk standards, known and sung wherever great choruses ring out. Tom accompanies himself on button accordion and ukulele—but it's that powerful vocal style and infectious humor that keeps audiences coming back again and again. Now resident in Canada's Rocky Mountains, Tom was born in Northern Ireland, and that Celtic heritage is obvious in his clear, strong voice, evoking quiet sorrow for a fisherman lost to the sea just as honestly as it powers out a shanty "to be heard above the gales."

Presented by Seattle Folklore Society and Northwest Seaport.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $13 for members of NWS, SFS and PNA. Kids half price.
Reservations at http://www.seafolklore.org or (206) 528-8523.
