Hi anyone out there, amazing that the Album is still of interest after 42 years. Ah well, Some of us still play. I was in Minkhejo until 6 years ago when we morphed into Anomaly to form a 7 piece band playing our own songs. See Reverbnation for latest stuff. Just completed a new cd. and still gigging. We are all still friends although some we do not see too often these days.Paul plays with another band, Lyn has retired from ENO opera. Shane's a vet Rob & Val have retired but sing at times with local music groups. More info available as required.
best wishes John(Yanni in Greece)!!

Hi, guys, I agree with Paul, nice to hear from you mate! Some folks won't know that Paul and I went on to form TABOO and made a few tapes and c.d. before Paul left for better things!! I formed MINKHEJO with Mike O'Neil, Clare Found and Dave Smith we did well with gigs and c.d.'s for 8 years, before morphing into ANOMALY with drums, bass & keyboard for a more raunchy sound using our own songs. See REVERBNATION for samples and details. Anomaly are at the start of a busy spring, summer with wedding gigs and festival plays coming up. Keep the old dogs flying. best wishes to all. JOHN.

sorry, but Martin Mitchell did not join our band. It must have been the other Madrigal who recorded about the same time as us.
It's nice to see all the interest in Madrigal after all these years,
Best wishes, Paul.

from > http://martinmitchellsmicr...4-my-first-mic/

He had played also upon Nigel Mazlyn-Jones' Ship to Shore album later in '76.

I found this thread when seeking ?who played in Martins Band The Rotavators, 1 7" Single Recorded 1976 [b-side possibly 1978], released 1978.

Thought i'd let you know.

Atb ., Ian

Hi, Following my previous message, I have spoken to Carolyn(sister)sings with ENO, and Shane who is away at present. We still see each other but don't gig as we have moved on through Minkhejo and now Anomaly.Madrigal made an acetate single SUN/FULL MOON which is very rare now, also some tapes. The original Beneath the Greenwood Tree has been put onto c.d. format, but we know nothing of this.!! MINKHEJO made several c.d.'s and had a hit in Aussie with THE RILL,from a WH DAVIES poem. Last c.d. was ROSE MOON. ANOMALY writes all its own stuff and has just recorded a c.d. which is out at gigs soon(Room at the Top). We only do charity gigs now which is worthwhile to us.Hi to all who remember. regards JOHN,PAUL,LYN&SHANE

Hi, I sent an email as well, guess it's my age. Yes we are all still alive, and I am still playing and recording with ANOMALY currently doing electric folk and rock stuff.Quite fun to see that the old album is up there at the prices it seems to fetch. We didn't make much out of it,so it's a prestige thing really. Nice to hear from you regards John &Paul

A request...

If anyone know John Cook, Paul Driscoll, Shane Jackson, Carolyn Whettell or any other ex-member of Gloucestershire based folk group Madrigal, who released one album, Under the Greenwood Tree, in 1973, could you please point them in the direction of www.lostfolktapes.com to see if they fancy an interview? The email address is contact (at) lostfolktapes.com

Cheers,

SplCr
