Who's going to Bedworth in November? I went for the first time last November, and was really impressed. I'm sure there were loads of Mudcatters there.
It's such a friendly, singers festival - and extremely well priced!
There's a great line-up, and I can't wait to MC there again! Just hope it's not as cold this year!

You're right Ali, Bedworth is a really nice festival, reasonably priced. And a lot of Mudcatters go, we usually have a MudGather there around Saturday Tea-time. We'll be going and will be keeping fingers crossed for better weather!

It's always cold at Bedworth. That's half the fun and half the atmosphere. It's a great festival to which we have been to every year except the first. Hopefully we'll be going for many years to come too. See you there! Wrap up warm and you'll be ok.

Thanks Ali for starting this thread, and glad you all had/have such a good time at Bedworth.
Needless to say things are well progressed now for this year and I am just working on the initial running order for the week-end.
I had the usual meeting with the council and police last week and all is well there and you will be pleased to know when I asked them if we could order some better weather this year they said of course "we can't have it too cold this year 'cos we can't afford the salt for the roads" ;-) so there you are it's official Bedworth will be warmer this year!!!
Usual words of warning this year due to our limited places for caravan / campervan parking (especially at The Rugby Club) book spaces early. You can get all the info and book tickets etc on the Festival Web Site or if you have any queries email us on Bedworth festival E-mail
Many thanks, and looking forward to seeing you all.
Malc.

Looking forward to the festival--it will be our third time going. One of the "staples" that is a must-do for us now, and a great beginning to the holiday season.

I like the description, Simply Purple. How many folk festivals could describe themselves as a "cuddle" festival?

Big update on the web site over the week-end, full programme and loads more information now available. Tickets still available but caravan and campervan spaces are rapidly filling.

What a clever web-site *grin* Many thanks Malc!!

So, MudGather is 3.30pm - 5.30pm in the Old Black Bank on Saturday 26th November - who'd 'a thought it?

Don't forget to bring pizes for the MudRaffle, someone has to win that 'perpetual raffle prize' & take it home with them this year.....

Programme looks great, Malc, another wonderful weekend--only problem is going to be working out how to be in three places at once!

Are we foregoing the chocolate at the mudgather, Guru, or are "mudgather" and "chocolate" synonyms these days?

Oh yes, WWW, chocolate is always desirable at a Mudgather, if not totally necessary *grin*

Yers, Les, it was a little chilly last year. But surely, a tankard of beer doesn't last long enough to freeze....

Sounds like another great one Malc, looking forward to being part of the team again this year.
Hope to get to the Mudgather - tho' yet again Hils it will be last-minute as my stint at the Civic ends at 5 pm... sorry!
Can't wait - and I'm a-counting down with the website (yes it looks better than ever Malc, well done mate!)

Don't worry MoorleyMan, the Mudgather tends to run over anyway!

Would you believe I know someone who would actually like to take the 'perpetual raffle prize' home with them? Honest!

Not long now! Don't forget, chocolate & raffle prizes, raffle prizes & chocolate....

Hi all - just a bit of an update, the inevitable last minute surge is now underway and there is no 3 day Caravan or Campervan space remaining, still room for tents (if you are brave enough!) and Caravans and Campervans for Friday and/or Saturday nights. Day only tickets are now available on the web site for Saturday, along with day only tickets for Friday Evening or Sunday (when our special guest will be the excellent Brian Peters). Programme and loads of other information on the web site Bedworth Folk Festival and it looks like even the weather will be better than usual this year!

Missed the Mudgather :-(

In fact the concerts were so good that we didn't get to the Black Bank at all.

So thanks to Malc and Gill for another great festival weekend.

Lots of great performances and the promised mild weather showed up as forecast.

No, I didn't think I'd get in first (!) to thank Malc and Gill for yet another fantastic Bedworth fest, my tenth (believe it!)...
Great singing and great atmosphere throughout wherever and whenever. Sad to have missed Bob & Gill Berry (Gill had been taken ill) but I think that was the only downside I can recall right now. WELL DUN ALL THE TEAM - and big thanks to all concerned.

Another lovely Bedworth weekend, many thanks to Malc, Gill, Claire & all the team!

Many thanks to all who came to the MudGather, sang, hugged, ate chocolate, laughed & purchased raffle prizes! I cannot believe that Richard won the perpetual raffle prize - it's now sitting in pride of place in the Black Bank!

It was only a Mini MudRaffle but we raised £16.50 towards MudCat funds. I'll make that up to £20 as I promised Banjiman that I'd pop in a few extra £'s as he kindly sent me a Finn & Haddie recently.

So, here's the Register:

Another great festival, thanks to Malc and Gill and everyone.

The mudgather was really nice (well, once MGAS got the melodeon/banjo players to take a break!), and the Sunday sing-arounds were good too. Such incredible harmonies there and in the concerts.

Feel like the holidays are now officially coming, even if the weather was more like early autumn this year.
