Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 04 Oct 11 - 09:32 PM I am sincerely sorry to offend "Steve Jobs" and his lack of documentation.
A "c-ch-k-ka - zillion" alarm settings are available - in EVERY software configuration."
Let us go back to the basics:
IF - "John in Kansas" has not responded (he logs in every 4 hours around the clock 24/7 365 a year....
Sincerly, You are BS (an Idjet) if one of the clones does not MOVE YOU .... well ... you are on Mudcat. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: Desert Dancer Date: 04 Oct 11 - 04:53 PM I was looking for a similar computer alarm clock and downloaded Pester. Very easy to use. You can set it to go off in X minutes, or at a particular time. ~ Becky in Long Beach |

Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: MGM·Lion Date: 03 Oct 11 - 06:37 AM No, but I have relocated it. Went into Help in header-menu of Quick Time Player & searched for 'alarm'; which has brought up a pop-up on my desktop, a black with white lettering little app headed Alarm Clock Bell.caf, with one of those switch-on/off triangle-on-its-side thingies* that you get when you get up any youtube vid or whevs, which when switched to 'on', i.e the two vertical parallel lines instead of the ► , will play a volume-controllable bell sound. What I am seeking is some way of setting this device; so far unsuccessfully. ~M~ *Please note my mastery of hi·tech nomenclature! |
Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: MGM·Lion Date: 03 Oct 11 - 06:13 AM It was online, found on Quick Time Player. Can't find it again instantly, but think I might just have found some alternatives by googling further. Will come back if they do not succeed. meanwhile, many thanks for your help, ~r~ ~M~ |
Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: ragdall Date: 03 Oct 11 - 05:54 AM Michael, is it on a computer or a hand held device? ~r~ |
Subject: RE: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: MGM·Lion Date: 03 Oct 11 - 03:26 AM Many thanks, Rags. But, tho this could make a good waker-up [my wife has a similar mini-device which plays a CD], it doesn't explain how to trigger the alarm-bell system which is part of Quick Time Player, which is what I am actually seeking ~~ not necessarily for morning waking, but for shorter-term necessities: the other night, when I posted this question, I had wanted at 1830 hrs to remind myself of a job I had to do at 2000; an accessible mini-reminder device would have been v useful, & I assumed my Mac must have some such. But, tho a search revealed this alarm on the QTP, I could find no means to set & trigger it. Hence this post ~M~ |

Subject: Tech: Quick Time Player alarm setting From: MGM·Lion Date: 02 Oct 11 - 06:09 AM My Mac "Quick Time Player" will produce an alarm-clock sounder. But nowhere in its preferences, or in general Applications, can I find any guidance as to how to set it. Anyone, please? ~Michael~ |
